I applied for a sales position online with this company 2 months ago. Never even received a rejection letter. I have over 22 years of successful experience in the specific industry/roles listed, and I’m willing to work for their pay structure. I provided a full resume, with references and contact info. Beyond learning this company’s policies and procedures, the learning curve would be almost non existent. They are still hiring for the position. I have 4 theories: 1- I am over the age demographic at 59. 2- I don’t speak fluent Spanish. 3- Online application systems are flawed and dehumanizing. 4- All of the above.
So I am in IT sector and working in a company based Germany but I am living in Turkey (100% remote). So who don't know Turkey is not in EU and company legally don't have to provide me any benefits like health care, PTO or sick day. Legally(in Turkey) I am self employed. I am the only one who work from out side of EU in the company, still they gave me(I didn't ask for it) 30 days PTO, unlimited sick day(if I provide a doctor's writing). Only down side is they can't provide me work tools like laptop because Turkey customs doesn't allow it (They think you bought these items and want their cuts/taxes). 2 weeks ago I get a job offer from a company who based in US but they even refuse to let me know what is the budget(range) before going in interview and I said no.…
Well I do need you tomorrow
Text my boomer boss last night, told my boss both of their hostesses were picking on me and bullying me and I gave more documented details. my boss replies with “Well I do need you tomorrow”. Completely ignoring what happened to me. After I politely explained that I like my job and I am more than willing to help (I was trying to be a little bit of a bootlicker) my boss gets rude and condescending to which I text “I'm gonna show up but seems like you don't give a cr@p about your employees”. I just changed my mind and decided to stay home with my cat, catch up on some homework and play some Zelda Breath of The Wild and I will be back tomorrow if they still want to do business with me. I don't know who is going to be bussing tables tonight but it is…
We should all be furious
We all have an expiration date. Yet sure let’s all just go to the same place day in and day out to do the same repetitive shit. I’m just trying to stay sane but it hardly seems worth selling half my life to not even enjoy the other half. This is insanity.
I’m currently between jobs right now as I was laid off, and I have to say, searching for jobs is miserable. The ones I’m qualified for will take a resume. The ones I’m overqualified for, want a resume and an application that takes up to an hour of my time. No thanks. This whole application process is a joke. A resume is just as good. Why? Because it’s not hard to verify basic information. Why should I have to put down my old employers name, address, email, phone number, SSN, personal cell phone, how many kids they have, etc. Anyways. If some employer won’t accept my resume and makes me fill out an online form…no thanks. End of rant.
X is having Her baby soon and we want to give her a gift some money please help Y lost family member and will be flying out for family arrangements please help with some money Z is getting married, please help with some money Is this normal thing? It’s Friday! You made it!!!!
For anyone who needs it.
We must be children.
So, my department had a team meeting yesterday. It was cringey as fuck. Management is horribly out of touch. We were promised that they would “TRY” to do something fun “IF” everyone met their metrics. Sounds to me like we're looking a Pizza Party!! Oh Man! So fuckin' excited! (This is my excited face) And then on top of that….After the meeting, we got a fun little quiz in our email to make sure we were paying attention during the team meeting. I refuse to do a fucking quiz.
