What to know about a company’s culture?
Count the number of clicks, messages, and emails, and weeks ahead it takes to get one's leave approved. Shows you everything without having to actually say a word. At least that's what this sub-reddit has taught and confirmed for me.
It's 0800 here, i'm getting my beer buzz on, watching ozark. My boss doing the same lmao. Gonna spend the rest of the day tending to my plants in my garden. I am antiwork yet i do enjoy my trade. I'm a pipe fitter btw but today i am free. Hope some of y'all get to be also! Peace
I didnt sign any contract and I’m not sure if i need any notice before quitting. I’ve only worked for a few days or around a week but I dont feel like im suited for this job. Im stressing over the job. Im just a student working part time during holidays, not sure if i can quit before the 2 month commitment period.
It gives the same mouth feel as living in the corporate world.
The story of my resignation
This is the story of my resignation. After working for a business for a year, a lot of trouble with the employees, very bad pay and way too much work while my co-workers were twiddling their thumbs, I decided to quit my job. I sat down in my office and wrote my resignation on my computer, then I printed it. While printing, I had a customer. After finishing the customer, my boss stood in front of me, the resignation in his hands, asking me “What the hell is this ?” Damn, I totally forgot that the printer was in his office I said, “what does it looks like?” and he just said “You forgot to sign it”, so I gave him my sign and packed my bags. I had 4 weeks' notice, but I said “fuck you all” and got sick leave next day. Those fuckers never saw me again.…
Heartless employers and Useless Union
So my wife and her co workers are being bullied by their work place (retirement home) by first telling them they will mostly (around 75%) be let go without severance (Canada), can't organize a strike as they're threatened to be fired if they do and their union is saying they can't do anything. Seriously, they pay dues and the main purpose of this union is not doing it's job. This is really why we hate work so much as even if you love what you are doing, profits are forever first. Screw this rah rah team, thanks for being front liner bs and all that. Is there anything else that can be done?
This is from a Forbes article posted October 2021. “For the 40th annual Forbes 400 list of the wealthiest Americans, the members’ collective fortune rose a massive 40% over the last year to $4.5 trillion, up from $3.2 trillion. Nearly all are richer than they were a year ago. The top 20 on the list are together worth a stunning $1.8 trillion.” https://www.forbes.com/sites/kerryadolan/2021/10/05/the-2021-forbes-400-list-of-richest-americans-facts-and-figures/?sh=1b82e2fa34e9 This is maddening. I know this is only one piece to the problem puzzle of our country. Normal people struggle so much, all the time, for years. Why can’t the rich just be a little less..rich? There are so many things that could change for America that would help out our collective society. I can’t speak for other countries, but I know at my core that we could be doing so much better in so many ways. I’m not trying to make it seem like the rich…
I get that some stores lock the doors and let people out, but won't let people in. My shift ends at 10pm, I clock out at 10pm. Especially now, since the store cut everyone's hours and hardly anyone is getting over 16 hours a week, unless they're management. The store leader tries keeping in as many people as possible, whether on the clock or not, just because he wants to be in control that much longer. He's literally the only Store leader that does this. I started using the emergency exits whenever he's working, and he blows up my phone demanding where I'm at, and I just say I'm off the clock and he's not my boss right now. I'm starting to think I should just call the police, because isn't this false imprisonment or something else similar?
