I live in Australia (NSW) and I work at my university’s accessibility department. My work entails going to different classes and lectures and taking notes on behalf of students who face accessibility issues. Sometimes these classes are live, sometimes they are recorded. In my work roster at the start of this semester, I was rostered to work on 2 public holidays (18/04 & 25/04). I have worked in this position for the last year and a half and I have previously worked on Sundays (and successfully claimed higher pay for these days) without needing approval from my manager. The classes on these two dates were recorded (they are usually live every Monday morning) since it was a public holiday. I kept myself free on these public holidays so that I could do my work only to suddenly find out that I cannot claim the higher holiday rate for work done…
So I was fired yesterday because some accusation an employee made about me. I still had sick days left and I did not get a reason to me being fired from my boss. And he had also told every employee he wanted to fire me so I was told by them what was going to happen. What steps should I take?
Told my boss yesterday that one of the projects at my work wasn’t running correctly over the weekend because the stats were off by a huge margin. Boss told me they were waiting on more information from the client so it was totally fine… I then told them again today it was still an issue andI was getting concerned. Then they chased it and turns out an email has been sent to the department inbox (that was blank) on Friday with an untitled attachment. I’ve been here less than a month by the way. Now the client is unimpressed (obviously) and now I’m getting the blame for “missing” the information. I told them twice! I just can’t even… FML.
exchange for worth.
I think you know what I chose
Im terrified of leaving my job.
Hi everyone! So look im just seeking a bit of advice. I work for vodafone which is a telco company in Australia. Ive been working in telco for 3 years since the day i left highschool and really really enjoyed it until now. My boss owns a franchise and this month weve had probably the worst foot traffic ever. Its gotten to the point where we are loosing customers more than were making them. I know this isnt my issue being the employee but my boss is making it so. To the point where he'll pull me aside to have a chat if i dont offer $65 a month plans to seniors who can barely afford their 30$ prepaid cards. Im honestly sick and tired of my boss micromanaging me and telling me to do unethical selling just so he can make a profit. He pays me $1 over minimum…
