In lieu of a new promotion, I'm gathering data for negotiations. Retail Store Manager, won't give out too many details for obvious reasons. New Location is projected to do 70k in sales a weeks. More than a %100 increase from where we're currently at. Been with the company since '17. Addition work includes more Trucks, & perishables. Going from a staff of 6, to 13 I'll be overseeing. Current pay is mid 40s.
I bought Pasture Raised Cage Free Eggs….
I realized that livestock may have a more vibrant life not tied to one location than we do.
Completely toxic work environment. Middle room is one huge clique backed by the head HR manager. Today they went to a food bank and filled a mini van with food that they brought back to work. Started handing shit out made a huge fuss could hear it from the back of the building. Filled every fridge in the building they use to sell soda and snacks thenSomeone goes HR MANAGER SAYS NOTHING IS DISTRIBUTED TILL SHE GETS BACK. I hate this place. I feel like I work for complete shitheads. Some family might have not gotten food because they wanted to make money. I feel sick And am now actively looking for a replacement job.
Non-compete clause
So my company was acquired by a heartless capital fund. The capital fund requires a no compete clause for 12 months after you leave the job. Everyone had to sign it to get on the bonus program. The company sent a new contract that excludes the no compete clause, and they tried to sound magnanimous. The truth is non-compete clauses are not legal in this state. They just didn't check the law before the original contract was signed.
Any Advice Welcome!
Working at place that is desperately understaffed. Thought I would help out and make some money, win-win, right? They scheduled me full time, although I only wanted part time hours. After 8 weeks, I'm burned out because I'm also going to school full time. I'm skipping classes to work at this minimum wage job. So I tried to be proactive, and tell my managers that I couldn't work as late, I needed more time off for school, and I needed to get home earlier than 11 as I have class at 8 or 9. Waited the two weeks, but it didn't matter. Now, what am I supposed to do? If I put my 2 weeks it, it'll look like I'm flexing. If I wait another week, maybe the schedule will change, but I'll still be working 36 hours a week. If I request a leave of absence, again flexing and…
That’s what you get.
make up your friggin’ mind!
Yesterday Me: your cabinet door sample just came in. Boss: bring it back to my desk. Me: (sets box down by his desk.) Here you go. Boss: (with snarky grin) let's unbox it, shall we? Today Me: (holding new, unboxed cabinet door sample) here's the other sample you were waiting for. Boss: I wish you'd left it in the box. Ever get the feeling that A) you just can't win and B) the Boss does this just to aggravate you?
