Company I have been employed with since December does work in other states and they do not have dot numbers on their trucks and trailers. Also they have 1 guy working for them that drives intoxicated almost every day. I'm done with trying to get the company to do the right things and am leaving . What are my options ?
Quitting without notice?
So I've been in my job for a while now, Not too long after I began the job I began getting very very stressed out with it. It is a work from home job and lately it hasn't been worth the stress and anxiety it's been causing me. I have learning disabilities and it makes things so much harder. I asked for a leave to get myself together bc I was so out of it so they placed me on a medical leave so I can take care of things. I am still on this leave but I'm due to go back very soon. My partner and I have been planning for a very long time to buy a van and travel. That opportunity is finally coming to light and we are going to be doing that within the next few weeks. So with that being said I don't want…
Looking for old post
Yesterday or the day before, a user posted screenshots about a manager firing someone for calling out because their son was on life support. Corporate number was called and they claimed this happened years ago yadda yadda. Was hoping to get more clarity
I love my job but the managers could not give less of a shit about us casual employees. They will guilt-trip us into working ungodly hours and berate us for asking for days off. Tomorrow I will have worked 13 days in a row. One shift was only about 4 hours, another two were about 6 hours and the rest were 10 hours. Tomorrow I am going to tell them that I’m having three entire days off in a row and if they get mad they can absolutely get f*cked. Wish me luck!
So I could spend the next 8 hours sitting around doing nothing.
Why do managers get so much hate?
It seems like every other post on here is so much hate on managers when really i hate my life being one. I feel like alot of times its a “shoot the messenger” type situation. Im a executive chef at a restaurant. I am not the owner. And i feel like i am an okay boss, i havent had anyone quit on me atleast in the lst 1.5 years of being employed at this restaurant. But addressing callouts, and understaffing… i pay $20/hr to cooks + tips. I dont have more in my budget to pay more. Last WEEK i clocked 81 hours. I had 3 callouts (2 from one employee 1 feom another due to sickness) so i worked 4am-12am midnight multiple days. I miss my dog, and my family =/ I realize i make salary and an okay living at 60k/year but shit still sucks at the top…
Wage stagnation is also happening in EU.
Things are starting to break pretty badly in Holland. Housing is rapidly becoming unaffordable, food prices are rising and wages are stagnant. I'm amazed to even hear that the biggest union in Holland is actually having protests. “Next week, FNV (a major union here in NL) will hold a “Week of the Trade Union,” with protests against the growing inequality in the Netherlands, according to the trade union. The final event will be the celebration of Labor Day on May 1. The trade union will organize dozens of events throughout the country under the motto: “Stop the skewed growth.” FNV has long called for higher wage to help people with the rising cost of living, among other things. It also supports more permanent jobs. Daily life is becoming more expensive, but incomes have not seen similar change, FNV chair Tuur Elzinga said in a statement. Instead, Elzinga said the wealth…
So for context, I work full time. 8 hours a day, 9am-5pm. I was staring at my computer the other day thinking about this… And wtf? 5.days.a.week. Does anyone else think that that's just crazy? I wake up, work for about 8 hours, by the time I'm done I cook dinner and then have maybe 2-3 hours to relax and do what I like. Hate sounding like a whiny bitch but wtf? That's like 80% of my life. It's just so bizarre when I actually think about it. And the weekend is way too short. I genuinely think weekends should be increased to 3 days. It's like dead ass you have 5 full days of working and 2 days of actually living/ doing what you want. Even then Saturdays I usually clean the house/ get errands done so i pretty much have one day of free time. It's just bizarre.…
