I'm asking here because I know I'll get an honest answer .. how wad working for them?? Was it tolerable and not too bad? They ate offering me the same job I do now for $8 more an hour it sounds too good to be true honestly so I'm wondering if and what the catch is??
Hybrid Work Schedules
Take note of the companies offering 2 days in office vs 3 days in office. The micromanagers and old school businesses such as banking will slowly require a complete return to the office. Some even lie on job postings offering hybrid with the full intention of making that role be on-site – especially if the role or the company was never really WFH before the pandemic anyway.
Last Minute Schedule Change
For context I work security, so our schedule RARELY change. When it does, the supervisor usually informs you a little over a week to prepare you. Well it didn't happen for me, Friday and Saturday have been my usual days off for months. I can't stress this enough, maybe at this point they just couldn't careless – my days off and my husband's are days we don't have to schedule for a daycare to watch our son. We have to set it up and pay for the daycare a week in advance, apparently my boss changed my days off to Sunday and Monday – she had since LAST Wednesday to inform me so I could make changes decided not to even mention it. He was explaining to my boss(I think) that if we got too much, then we would grow accustomed to it and expect the same amount every time. I was kinda floored. I don't understand the logic. He spends so much time trying to convince us that he is our advocate, but then he does this when he thinks no one is listening.
When I hear that in the United States if you get fired you only get paid for 15 days of work, you don't have paid vacations or you can't sue your employer for fear of being fired and because you can't afford a lawyer, I wonder why they don't support the power that gives a union? Do you have an anecdote of a problem you had at work that the union could have helped you with?
