I told my manager a couple of weeks ago before they went on leave that I want to start working less when they come back. Apparantly next month is going to be super busy and they are saying I might not be able to go down in hours until the month after. I want to quit but that means I would still have to work full time until then for 3 more weeks. Can they force me to stay in my position as full time employee? I have already started an online course and wont have time to work that much.
Where do I begin? My job was paying me $85,00/year Now I’m down to zero Fuck. Big fuck. But I’m happy I don’t have to go the office everyday. That was such a nightmare. I got sick and even caught covid by going into the office. Sacrifice my soul for everything what a disaster. What do I do now? How do I make cash in flows so I can survive?
Hi all, I'm looking for someone to interview about their experience decreasing or maintaining a low productivity at work. Perhaps also known as stealing time or as a more organized activity, slow striking or participating in a slowdown strike. If any of these descriptions apply to your work style, I would love to talk! You can be anonymous or use a fake name if you prefer. It would be for the podcast ‘This is Uncomfortable’ hosted by Reema Khrais, which is a part of the economics and business news program Marketplace. It’s a storytelling show about the ways work, money and power shape our lives. Please message me, Phoebe, if interested. Thank you!
This might be a bit long, I'm pissed. (TLDR at the bottom) Let's get some dates going! December 8 2020 – hired ( on the basis I'll gets vehicle so i can attend manager meeting every morning) January 10 2021 – bought a vehicle (Company learns that I stand up for my department (seasonal workers, which that take great advantage of and abuse) and tells me I'm not needed at manager meetings, strange because I'm a manager, and every other department are secondary to mine) March 2020 – becomes pregnant May 3 2021- request a letter of employment because I need it for a new and bigger apartment. Owner WHO IS HR MANAGER refuses to put my title as manager. My title is manager, and in the competitive market, I thought it would give me a little bit of an edge. August 20 2021 – Have review with my boss,…
I need help making sense of this…
I did an interview, and got offered the job the next day, was literally asked if I still wanted the job because they wanted to offer to me obviously I said yes. I went through background check past that, then got told to go do a drug screening, did that on Tuesday, it is now Thursday and I didn't hear anything so I figured I would call the other person who had given me the background/drug screening info. She called me back to tell me that the people who do the screening of individuals or something said I don't have the job… Of course I called them right away to see what the hell was up but they are closed right now because they are in Texas. This goes on to my next point, we all know how there's a huge issue with transgender people in Texas, I am transgender,…
Asking for 5 professional references
Hello! First time posting here but I wanted to see if I’m being dramatic. I interviewed for a job back in January. I unfortunately did not receive an offer for said job. Fast forward to now, the same company calls me offering me a part time, temporary, remote position. I said yes as I’m in the position to take something like that and it will get me good experience for my field. Now they are asking for 5 professional references with 2 being previous managers. Is this too much of an ask for a job like this? I feel like it’s extremely excessive for a job I’ll be working 10-15 hours a week and that they called me up and offered. Not sure if I’m going to move forward, but I just wanted to get some outside opinions. Any advice is helpful 🙂 thank you!
