I'm at wits end, I resigned last week but they convinced me to stay. IT Helpdesk role. I started at about $36k CAD 3 years ago, I'm now paid $42.8k CAD. Glassdoor says with high confidence 20+ salaries provided, the average for my role is $55k with 75% making $60k bonuses up to $3500, but my best bonus was $750. I mentioned this during our talks, they said they can't talk about compensation while I've resigned. I come back to work on Monday. This is a top 5 bank here in Canada. I'm building a LinkedIn, renewing my resume and applying to places over the weekend. I don't mind this job, if I'm paid fairly. I thought I might be underpaid but I didn't think it was this.
Bait and switch
My daughter’s girlfriend has been interviewing for retail jobs. She applied to a sporting goods store that advertised a Monday to Friday full time position. In the end, she was offered part time, maximum 20 hours per week, no guaranteed minimum. When she asked if another candidate got the full time position, she was told that no such position was on offer, to anyone.

If you want to be more effective or don't have the choice, you get yourself a car. Then you need to factor in a whole lot of expenses related to insurance, gas, repairs, plus the stress to drive and park your car. – Less time and energy for house work. Less time to clean, less time to cook, so you pay someone to do it for you, or rely on your partner, or get transformed food that…

I wanted to share with you guys. Change is good, its possible to improve and get a better position. Last July I quit my job of 15 years because according to my boss there was no money for my raise. I received a 1.5 % raise after months of complaints and arguing with them. I quit. We were supposed to give one months notice and I didn't. After my boss gave me that joke of a raise, I finished my day, picked up all my stuff, dropped my Laptop and Id at the I.T department. No months notice. No knowledge transfer. No Resignation letter. No informing H.R or boss or co workers. I just left…. I wasn't the best employee, but I did my job, got there on time and delivered within the schedule At the old company we used 3 specialized software's and even though…
