We've had some suspicious coincidences at my work in the past couple weeks. We were talking on shift about how we didn't have a tip jar so made one ourselves, the next day (without communicating with anyone or coming into the shop) our boss had a proper tip box ready to install. In another case 2 staff were talking about a personal Instagram account that could only be found by typing the exact handle, and that night it was followed by our boss (who has said many times that he fancies her). There are cameras that we are aware of however they're not able to see a phone screen (for the Instagram page). They have been caught recording and listening to us through cameras before a few years ago however this is a new location. Is this legal? We're in the UK and at the very least feel very uncomfortable…
Retail worker but still I think this is BS. They changed the company policy a month or so ago so Easter doesn't qualify for time and a half. The worst bit is when customers tell me, “Well that's why you make the big bucks!” Lol no I don't or “Aww I'm sorry you have to work and miss out”. If you MFs weren't buying shit today I wouldn't have to be here! I'm so done with it all, why work my ass off to just barely scrape by
Check the mail??
I have been diagnost with depression and I am on the autism spectrum. I am severeally underpaid and disrespected at work. This job has brought me to the brink of mental destruction and I wonder why I am still working it. Its kind of sad that i can make more doing nothing then showing up to this job
I have been constantly texted about mistakes I have made while I am off the clock by my lead. I told her last night that I'd prefer to speak about these things when we see each other on Thursdays or whenever I'm on the clock if it is not urgent. She INSISTS that she will be talking to me before Thursday and says it is “not harrassment.” Well, I told her “If someone asks you to stop contacting them outside of work hours unless it's an emergency or can't wait, and you continue to do so angrily, then it is harrassment. I will no longer be responding to texts from you outside of my work hours as I lead too much of a busy life to be getting advice that I could be getting on the clock.” Mind you, when she does give “advice” it is often rude. Last night…
FedEx is a scumbag company for making drivers deliver on Easter Sunday. When I have the option, I will use them less, even at an expense.
