My boss told me I should ask for a raise. I did, HR said they will “only consider raises during the annual review process in July”

I just had my 90 day review and got so much praise for my boss. She’s like, totally go ask for a raise, “it shouldn’t be a problem” but it was, is this a thing? I like this company, but like wtf, I need to pay rent 🤷‍️

Raising wages to $25/hour solved problems

Hey everyone! A while back I saw an article on this sub and I can’t seem to find it now. I thought it was about a restaurant in Florida that raised its pay to $25/hour and that solved all its problems – not just finding staff. Anyone remember this? Anyone have a link to the article I’m thinking of? Thanks in advance!!

I just turned down a job and directly quoted the CEO’s unethical business practices

I just turned down an offer – they lowballed me, and when I told them to shove it, they came up with more money, their benefits are better than mine, and the employee culture is better. Their CEO is a dick. An absolute disconnected from reality, rich trust fund man child that can't even dress himself properly for executive townhalls. His ethics are horrible, and over the past few years (I previously worked at this same company), he gave a bunch of his cronies big golden thrones at this company that was hemorrhaging money, all the while refusing to invest in the one sector of the company that was actually bringing in positive revenue. I refused to represent an unethical executive management, no exceptions. I know that I won't change anything, but I do feel that I'm doing my part.

Boss said I can’t use PTO or Sick Leave after putting in my 2 weeks. Company policy doesn’t say anything about that.

Today I put in my 2 weeks notice because I found a better job and this company is a shit hole. I had some leftover PTO and sick time that I wanted to use. Told my supervisor this and she talk to our manager. Our manager told my supervisor that I can't use Sick Leave or PTO during the 2 week period. Company policy doesn't say anything about not being able to use it during that period. Before people say to go to HR, they would do the same thing. They would reject the time. The HR here is shit and doesn't care about its workers. What can I do here? Those are my hours that I worked for and I'm tired of this company and the shit they have pulled Edit: I should have put this info in the post. I live in Washington State. Also, company policy does…

I hate working

I live and work in the US. My company isn’t that bad if you look at the big picture. Great benefits, flex time, some WFH. Pretty understanding when it comes to medical stuff. The worst part of my job is lack of support. I could write pages on this alone. The work itself can be overwhelming. We are short staffed constantly and it feels like upper management doesn’t care because they’re not even trying to find anyone else. Recently, I’ve had a medical issue come up that may require surgery. This medical issue is causing me to work a reduced schedule. My work is allowing this, but my work load is the same. I’m just not getting stuff done quickly enough now. So much for getting the bonus they just set up. I now dread coming in. I have stomach issues (unrelated to the other thing) specifically due to anxiety…
