We did the exact same job for the exact same pizza delivery company only she was getting paid slave slave labour. I couldn’t believe it when she told me. I was so shocked I didn’t know what to say. I just stood there, speechless. The horror on my face met her gaze and she agreed with me that it was awful.
Backstory: My girlfriend works in nursing home and they had a lot of covid cases. We decided to reduce the chance of spreading it so we take a rapid test every day before we go to work. So here is the rant: In Germany people have this stupied idea to go to work sick cause the are important and as a trainee in craftsman jobs there is this bullshittery that you get picked on. I'm 27 (most trainees are 16-18 years old) so I don't get bothered by this on most days. I can stand my ground. But last week on Monday I tested positive for covid (thankfully it was a false positive) but i had to wait 2 days for my test results so I called in sick. On Wednesday I was in school and we didn't make a break till 12am so I couldn't call in the morning…
I honestly just don’t do good in face to faces or phone calls. I’m just a very anxious person & the owner of where I work much prefers to keep things face to face or on call. However, I have emailed a request before & have actually requested written responses back to good reception, so I feel I might be more comfortable doing it than I should. Was curious what you guys thought about it? Also side question. Is it odd to request a date they respond by? Like “I would appreciate a response by (day), thank you for your consideration…”
Just got a call from my son in 5th grade. He told me his class is going on a field trip to a place called Biztown where they go get fake jobs and get paid fake money…🤦️🤦️🤦️
Basically what the title says. I work at a chain gas station (rhymes with Schmoliday and Smirkle K) and the corporate policy on cell phones is a simple ‘you’re not allowed to use it on company time when clocked in, if you are caught using it any time other than breaks you will be written up and terminated after 3 write ups’. Easily understandable and followed, no issue there. They want us to work while being paid, not play on our phones, I get that, especially since there are some people here who have it in front of their face the whole shift. Our boss has taken this a step further telling us that we need to put it in a drawer that everyone has access to behind the main counter of the store which is situated literally in the middle of the store. If we don’t put in the…
Eating while on the clock
Don't know if this might be an unpopular opinion, but I prefer to eat at my desk. Hear me out: The way my schedule works out, I take two of my three daily meals on shift, and no I'm not lucky enough to work at one of those places with an employee dining room, so I either have to take the time to meal prep and bring something in or use a break to leave and grab fast food. In that case, technically I could extend the break to be able to enjoy my meal away from work, but then I feel I ultimately spend more of my day at work. If I don't use my whole break, that just allows me to leave earlier. I would much rather leave earlier and use more of my day to do what I enjoy like getting to bed earlier or having more…
