To what extent is the NLRB useful?

If one wants to organize their workplace, we as socialists flock to any means neceassary. The unions that have thusfar gotten the farthest, Starbucks and Amazon, utalized the strike & NLRB. I doubt that they could ever amount as a fix-all or deus ex machina, as in the long run the State is bound to rescind its power to be the mediator between labor and employer. What should we be aware of as their role in labor negotiations though? How should we make use of it? For how long should we rely on it?

How do I (IT/TECH Recruiter) can make it as obvious as possible what SALARY is WITHOUT telling it directly?

Before we start – let me be 100% clear I do not approve hiding salaries and been telling all my managers and whoever I can that it’s dumb to hide it as you simply get either low number of people or people that are not that good. I even provided clear stats based on my personal outreach but companies still don’t give a damn. So… I’m trying to help candidates here without getting sacked and also get ideas. Candidates – let’s say I have 2 software engineer positions. 1 – up to 83k euro per year + 15% OTE 2 – 110-135k euro per year + 15% OTE Can you give me ideas on how I can make it as obvious as possible without stating above numbers directly? *OTE is a bonus based on performance

Am I right to feel disrespected?

I am about to graduate with a masters in Leadership and Policy Studies. I have been wanting to branch out my vocational prospects as my current line of work really has been worn out (mainly due to bad management, job is nice itself sometimes). I've been working in Housing and Residence Life for 4 years. With my degree, I can work virtually anywhere on a college campus (as staff, not faculty). However, I thought I could put in a application for a Team Lead (for human staff, not animals) at a local zoo. I have the necessary supervisory experience and more than enough educational qualifications (they listed bachelors requested). What is the correct way to go about emotional blackmailing from a superior?

So it seems, that superiors rely on emotional attacks and blackmailing, to get you to do things that you are not supposed to do. If i get it right, it seems to be a cultural thing that we don't say no, but if the situation really goes bad and continues, even for very bad things, do you have to document them, if you say no to it? Or can you just say “I'm not doing that” and if they fire you and you suffer the consequences for not doing what the superior tells you to do? It seems to me, if they fire you for disobeying they also have to document why they fired you, right? Edit: I mean if they tell you to do stuff way out of your job description, that might even be hazardous because you don't have the appropiate things to do it.

Hours cut after returning from maternity leave

So my sister just returned from maternity leave and her employers cut a full working day from what is usually a full time position. For whatever reason she had to undergo a medical procedure shortly after and needed to take a week off for surgery and recovery. Before returning to her job she gets a text from her boss saying that she should come in an hour later than her usually scheduled start time. Not only that her boss told her that she thinks she’s not ready to come back and now is wanting to cut an additional hour per day to her schedule. As most of you can imagine this has a huge financial impact. I feel like this is really wrong, is there anything she can do about this? Can she get partial unemployment? Any advice helps, thank you so much! (This is in Arizona btw)
