Anti-Office? :P
The worst nightmare
Working remote worth pay cut?
Interviewing for a few jobs this week. I really want to be fully remote. One fully remote job checks all of the boxes and pays 45-50k. Another job is hybrid, 3 days in office that is a 30 min drive from my house. Second one pays 55/60k. Is it worth it to make less if it means being remote? Thanks!
I get paid by the hour. We don't clock in and out of work, we just sign in and out during our start and end time. Anyways, if I leave at 4:26 or 4:30 it makes zero difference. I often wonder if management does this for legality or just control. I'm an adult and hate being micromanaged like this, it's why people just don't wanna bother with working in an office anymore. It just makes me wanna put my head down and ignore everyone at work so I can just do my job and go home. Really annoyed by how every little move at work is always scrutinized by management.
First Time on Unemployment
Title. Recently unemployed for the first time in my adult life and am in the process of applying for unemployment benefits. My question is – what is the easiest way to satisfy “work search activities”? I live in Nebraska, and we are required to participate in 5 “work search activities” 2 of which must be job applications per week of benefits. I leave the state in a few weeks. No one is going to hire me just to have me leave at the end of the month, so would it be easiest to just submit 5 job applications with “I am leaving the state on X date” at the top of my resume/application? Other options are things like attending job fairs or “re-employment seminars” with the Department of Labor but that sounds like more work than just submitting a job application.
Resume tailoring service
Hi all a few days ago I saw a post about not putting addresses on resumes which I agree with, but the poster wrote that they got something like 24 interviews and I guess people were asking him how and he said that he used a service that tailors their resume to the job listing. I saved the post planning to come back to it but the post must have been deleted. Any help on what that service could be?
Presentation for the CEO
I am a temp for a private heart clinic. I’ve been working in the call center for almost 3 months. I’ve asked the workers many questions about working environment. They do not allow any workers to work from home, even the call center people. Which would benefit them as many of the people in the call center talk and ignore incoming phone calls. They allow for black scrubs to be worn but it has to be an “approved brand”. You are not allowed to speak of what the CEO and second of command tells you behind closed doors. Everyone who works here is connected to each other in one way or another. You better not disagree with what anyone has to say or you get turned in upper management. Upper management praises narcs. Today was kinda my final straw with management’s behavior. Even though they offered me a full time…
