That’s how it was when I worked at a gas station and it sucked bad. Not only did it suck having to do all the work by myself, but it was also incredibly nerve racking, because… robberies happen, kidnappings happen… Does anyone remember Samantha Koenig? Abducted by a serial killer while working alone at a coffee shop at night? It’s horrible and disgusting but shit like this happens! I personally think you should always have at least two employees on the clock at the same time, not only to help each other out with the workload, but to be able to call for help if one gets sick or hurt and can’t do so themselves. I really can’t see why having two people work the night shift is something people are against. Yeah, you have to pay one more person, so what?

For context, I am 17 and I don't need to be working, i just want something to do. My job is miserable. Not only do I have customers yelling at me (fast food) but the managers will yell for any small reason at anyone. I had a manager send my coworker home because she was “having an attitude”. We had been bagging food and the manager only wanted one person doing it, and my coworker was going to finish bagging and then do something else. So I accepted a work from home position simply taking phone calls, and scheduling…only to get an email today informing me I also have to get a drug test BY MONDAY. For starters this is brand new info to me as this wasnt mentioned before (literally JUST got the email from them half an hour from wirting this), but what gets me is im literally sitting AT HOME ANSWERING PHONE CALLS! WTF…how in the actual fuck in 2022 are employers still this fucking caught up on drug testing, let alone for a position that doesnt even require I get out of bed if Ididnt feel like. I dont even have any troubles having to pass, but this sit is just beyond stupid af.

im not sure if this is the right place to post this, but im currently 16 and working at KFC. my store goes through phases where a lot of people quit and they obviously have to bring new people on. we just went through one of these. now, my friends and i (about 4 of us) are some of the most experienced people in the store who aren’t managers or shift supervisors. now for people who NEED experienced workers, as we have a high amount of trainees on every single shift, they do not treat us well. so my friend and i were talking about all four of us quitting at the same time. i think it’s an awesome idea, especially because it probably means they will have to answer to someone about why four employees who have been loyal to the company have quit at the same time. i…

Ya so talking to another buddy of my. Said cant get anyone to work. Ask well what are you pay he said minimum wage . At this point i under stand why i have employees and he does not. I pay 25h and benefits and 4 day work weeks. Happy employees means everyone wins. Like wtf people treat your employees like crap you reap what you sowe. Just my rant

So, my (27M) wife (27F) has been working for a tire dispatch company for truckers and think company with a blimp. My wife was one of the only 2 that actually made it past the training, they were unnecessary strict when it came to what they expected, and she has been working through out the last year as hard as she can. Well, recently they decided to let her go. Part of the problem is that we live in an apartment that is super noises, people slamming door and stomping up and down the stair case.
