I accepted, though no papers were signed, a job offer for a subpar hourly rate position with a major company(doesn't really matter) earlier this week. I just got offered an even better paying position today with another company. I'm supposed to go in for training for the low paying job today in an hour lol. How do I break it to the low paying job I'm no longer interested?
The job was listed at 40 hours a week and I was given a schedule four 10-hour shifts. Today after hour 3 the supervisor came over and told me to clock out, that they didn’t have enough work for everyone for the day. This wasn’t a “who wants to go home” thing like I’ve experienced at other companies, we weren’t given a choice. I inquired as to ether this was unusual, and they said it happens pretty often. So it looks like I now have a job where 4 days a week my time is “spoken for” but there’s a good chance I could get up, drive there, and be cut within a few hours, and might not actually ever see a 40 hour workweek. I have no way to determine whether I can actually pay my bills and it has nothing to do with whether I show up or…
Boss assaulted me (i think)
A little background. I've worked at this place for over 25 years. Never missed a day. Always did what they ask to the best of my ability. Today i am at work, cleaning the fryer out (as usual, i'm typically the only person to go above and beyond). I accidentally knocked the bucket of old grease over and it went everywhere. My boss saw the whole thing happen. Instead of helping, he just starts laughing and lit up his cigar (it was before the restaurant opened and he often smokes indoors). That didn't really bother me until what happened next. I'm kneeling down, cleaning the grease, and suddenly i'm shoved from behind into the grease. My boss literally kicked me in the back as hard as he could. I fall into the grease. After the initial shock i attempted to stand up. But the grease was too slippery. I spent…
What is whimsical and intangible, but can make or break you? The devil? Your credit scores! As someone who's not from this country, and who's been struggling a bit to play to the rules of capitalism, I have always been amazed by how my American friends view the credit scores as something natural. How they can sanely say the Chinese social credit system is creepy and criminal, while the American credit scores is normal and healthy, is beyond me. Hear me out – this is something that gets to whether or not you can get a house, a car, a job, and to a certain extent, a spouse. How could you allow the exact details of how it's calculated to be hidden from you? By disclosing the “formula”, I mean how the EXACT scores are calculated MATHEMATICALLY. What the agencies say officially “35% payment history, 30% amount owned, 15% length…
If you’re broke just work door dash lol
The Parasitic Rich
They are parasites on society, and they have always been. They have a mental disease called greed, that makes them accumulate far more than they could ever possibly need. In the process of stealing everything they can, they cause the deaths of millions. Then, those polished turds claim that they are the best ever, and that the workers who make and run everything are the parasites. The gall. As if anyone as useless and entitled could possibly do anything without us. Throw their bull$#!7 right back in their faces. They love being passive aggressive, give it right back to them. Stop protecting the turds.
