I got out of a toxic job back in November and started a new job in a new company. This field was a bit of a pivot from my last job and something I was genuinely interested in and they knew that when they hired me. Unfortunately, I haven’t been getting up to speed to their standards in the past 4 months. There is a lot of information so it was easy to get that mixed up. The role required some attention to detail and I made some mistakes, many of which I improved on, but it doesn’t seem to be enough. But they told me at the beginning that the first 6 months would be a ramp up period. Was put on an improvement plan at the beginning of the month and we would check in every two weeks to track progress. First check in they said I was…
overbearing boss breakdown
Downing a bit of a rant here so ignore if you wish but just got done having to explain my call log to my boss for clarification I work as a remote sales rep and they had me break down every little pause like if I was gone for 10 min like sorry some of us need to use the bathroom ir take lunch and when I ask them why this is done they say to ensure no one is slouching around on the job like our sales wouldn't reflect that… Thank you for coming to my Ted talk
My first post but reading the stories here is eye opening. It's not 1 or 2 lone cases of toxic CEO's, billionaires, corporate and management valuing human life less than…. just about everything. You are wage slave. It's not rare and we were trained to think it's how you're supposed to be, to be successful. Why can't I work where I'm valued greater for when I help people or enjoy what I want to do. Why is that the structure to begin with AT ALL. “Well you have to make money somehow !” Why is it THIS way ! That's why I stick to this sub, why I recommend it why I follow and read the stories. Why is it this way, why do I have to work for someone who I know is exploiting me and others. Why cant you have your treasures as a GENEROUS person, giving more…
Power concedes nothing without a demand
Anyone ever think about a General Strike to demand a better pay for workers? Apparently according to Blackrock, we are the entitled generation. June 9th? Anyone?
I am kind of wondering if I am getting fired. I am a female and he is a male and he started out being very passive aggressive towards me and like overloading me with work. Well it seems he has done a 180 and is actually being nice to me. In the past when I would ask him a questions he would act super annoyed. He also basically pretend that I did not exist. If I talked to other guys in the dept. he would clear his throat annoyingly or break the conversation up. I am just wondering if I should be looking for a pink slip soon. Nothing has changed on my end at all. In fact, I was new at the job. Now he is actually being friendly towards me.
Workplace Gaslighting
Had an interview for an interview?
I just had an zoom call with a recruiter for a company that I was pretty excited about. They seem to have a great culture, flexible, good values, transparent (and great) benefits, and on top of that their main business directly challenges a major corporation that I have some moral qualms about. The chat was going great, until she started telling me about the interview process. In order to even qualify for an interview I would need to pass a coding assessment. The last company I worked at that required this ended up being majorly toxic. They overworked and undervalued employees, claiming to care about our “family” while laying off thousands of people worldwide in 2020. I realize part of me is just lazy and doesn’t want to take another coding assessment (who even has the time or energy for homework anymore?). The other part is wondering why this is…
Say at 50? This does not mean that the highest paid employee will be paid less necessarily. If you have to pay someone a lot, you can do that, just maintain the ratio. I know it's not that straightforward, but you get the gist. Sure, the CEO can be paid more than the average worker but 1711 times is just insane.
