I was just pitched a position and was told they have a hybrid model. I asked about it and was told employees can work from home Wednesday’s. To me hybrid means atleast two days a week. Am I wrong here? They were turned off when I said that I wouldn’t call that a true hybrid model.
Mine is a friend’s employer who had seven benefits, but our district manager force vacation to only be taken in week chunks. Guess no one ever needs a three day weekend!!! My buddy said he simply would just call off fridays all the time rather than give them the courtesy of notifying them,
Not allowed to leave two hours earlier.
These past few weeks I've been working overtime, because my employer told me they really needed the extra hands. I told them that I would prefer not to work too much overtime because of my mental state but got told that there's pretty much no other way around it, and this is how it's going to be for the upcoming weeks because they predict it's going to be quite busy (I work retail) (dumb choice, I know) In two weeks, I've got something planned on the day I'm supposed to come into work. I made these plans a couple months ago and kind of put them aside until today. It starts at 6pm, but that is also exactly when my shift ends. With my naive little brain I just texted my colleague who goes over our work schedules if I could leave just two hours earlier, and I just got…
Unprofessional- sketchy job
I started working for a cleaning company and they had me work without doing all the proper safety prerequisites.. which I didn’t think about at the time was necessary to get paid. They did not even tell me I get paid monthly and not every two weeks. And now at the last week they’re asking me to do all this information and necessary for me to get paid or I won’t get paid and I filled it out and sent it over and now they seemingly lost the work and I’m not even sure I can trust I’ll even get paid when I need to pay bills or I’ll be in dept. I’m pissed off and thinking of quitting if they don’t pay me. I have another job on the line so .
Hello! I’m a 30 man with a wife, 10 month old baby, and 1 year old dog at home. My wife is a teacher and I have been working as a Food Service Manager at a theme park in NY for the last 14 years. My wife works a typical teacher’s schedule that includes the summers off. She spent last summer home recovering from having our son while I went to work. I stayed home with them the first two weeks and then went back to work. I didn’t want to do this because it left my wife doing everything to care for our child and dog. I had an agreement with my employer that would allow me to work less than I normally would. For context, I work six days a week and about 70-75 hours a week in the summertime. I’m also a salary employee. Our agreement was…
Q – if i plan on leaving early April, and i have already used up most of my full year’s worth of PTO (3wks), what happens? Do i have to pay them back pro-rated wage for the extra PTO that i took? FYIY, fortune 100 company, exempt employee. I took 2+ wks time off for kids winter and spring break and PTO. I only get 3 wks for the whole yr.
Okay so my employer is refusing to give me a copy of my personal record. I think what I need to do is file for a deposition subpoena, then have a sheriff serve it, mail it, or serve it directly. In case I need to mention specifics I believe I need to request: -The application -References, notes, evaluations -drug tests and results (i never took any though) -warnings and disciplinary actions -character summaries -guest and employee feedback/reports -signed documentation from orientation, the hiring process, and throughout employment -the receipt for 125$ that they removed from my first paycheck to pay for the position required state-issued license; for tax purposes. Does this seem like everything necessary for filing a case against my employer? Is there a phrase i could add to act as a “catch all” for missed documents? Any thoughts about this: During my interview, the interviewer did not actually…

Why are most business owners assholes?
It's really hard not to throw them all under the bus when it seems like literally 99% of them are bad. I was abused at every single one of my workplaces, and I constantly see other employees getting abused at theirs. Why are these people so morally reprehensible?
