How do you ask for a raise?
Honestly. I need help
“… Jujutsu Kaisen's English voice actors were likely paid just $150 to $600 each, based on the going rate in the industry. That's not a per-hour rate. That's the total amount.” https://t.co/1JSTmF09DI— Dave. Only My Choice. (@sasuraiger) March 28, 2022
Backstory and apologize for this being long. I work in a mainstream Grocery store where I use to exclusively cashier and check. Our Store went bankrupt and was bought by another company who kept most of us employed. I know work as a stocker and work the beer and wine section. PA has different rules on alcohol in grocery store on how to buy and such. Anyway back in 2O12 I started to get tingling and numbness in my left arm and finger area with my elbow hurting. Felt like someone pulling at the my with a bunch of tightness. My Union rep told me to go through workman's comp as my company didn't accept drs notes unless it was through a company approved dr. I went to the urgent care next door where I got an EMG and other testing where my results came back normal. I was diagnosed…
I am finding it harder to be optimistic
Every day I see this sub in my feed and it’s just abuse after abuse from employers. I see all the negativity, but I don’t see much of the brighter side anywhere. I know a lot of us have and do share the same sentiment. But it’s just getting harder to wait for something to happen. Right now I go to college full time, while trying to work a full time job. In the mean time I do door dash and I still can’t afford to eat tonight. I literally have to choose to spend the money I have to put gas in my car to deliver other people food. And I just do this for hours, delivering food, knowing I won’t be able to eat. Praying someone cancels their order after I get the food. None of this would be my reality if we were simply paid a living…
I have worked in mills, and forges, and garages, almost all of my working life. It's good honest work. That being said, it's taking a toll on my body. I wake up in pain, I get home and can hardly walk upright. I hobble around like I'm 90. I also have severe asthma. The mill I'm at now, pays well (for the area). $22.××/hr. I also have another job with In home care, for the elderly. I love it. The clients are great. I feel like I've actually done something with my time, and I don't go home feel like hot boiled dog shite. Here's the kicker. The in home care job doesn't pay that well. $11/hr. Even with both jobs, I still barely manage to get by, what with rent, utilities, insurance, groceries, etc. I know that I can make more money in the health care field. But I…
Need help/advice
My employer asks that if multiple employees are in a company vehicle only the driver should be clocked in. For example, two employees arrive at work, clock in, and get a company vehicle ready for the day. They start driving to whatever project we have to work on and the passenger clocks out while the driver stays clocked in. Then they arrive at the location for the project and the passenger clocks back in. I can’t tell if there is anything illegal about this or if it’s just an annoying policy. Any advice on how to figure out if this is allowed?
