So I’m wearing a holter because my heart is way too erratic for somebody my age (early 20s) and told one of my two bosses that I need my phone to track any irregularities as it’s quicker than writing them down. She told me she’d tell my other boss. This was Thursday last week. Today the other boss came in and saw me on my phone-I was entering data on how I just had a sharp pang around my heart area. “Ope! Phone!” I look at her confused. “No phones. That’s going in the office until the end of the day”, she explained. Thank god my coworker came to my defense to explain it’s literally for my damn heart. “Oh……okay well as long as it’s okay with [your coworker]…..” Can they just “take away” our phones like we’re in high school like that? Like damn zero communication between the two…
How does it make you feel when?
Co-workers waste time all day long, make more money than you do, get the best choice of shifts; yet you’re basically expected to pick up the slack? When would you just say fuck it and leave?
My SO sent me a pic of their facilities contribution to their social work staffs appreciation month. Their supervisor brought these treats in after lower paid entry workers asked if there were any plans to do anything before the month is over. As soon as I saw the pic, I knew exactly where to go. u/antiwork
Feeling guilty calling in..
So I work at lowes, my department is appliances I make $17 an hour and honestly I don’t get paid enough for what I do. I’m a girl and I’m like 5’2-5’3 and whenever someone buys an appliance it’s my job to go get it for them in the back so I be hauling and pushing big refrigerators and washers and dryers all sorts of stuff and there are times where no one is there to help me so I have to do it all by myself, it’s a lot for my size and I do not have the muscles for what I do and I really feel like I am underpaid for that. Also I am scheduled this week 6 days straight 1pm-10pm every single fucking day. I don’t have time to do shit with these hours. So today I called in and I’m trying so hard not to…
Called off of work this morning
I called off work this morning and got a super passive aggressive response. I’ve never called off, been late, or caused problems. They asked for a doctors note but don’t offer insurance, should I just take the point?
advice please?
i am so overworked and im on the verge of quitting my job because i can’t handle it, so i decided to talk to my boss about taking hours off my schedule and she said “can you give me few days?” and i said yes sure. That was wednesday today is monday and i haven’t heard a word. i understand there’s literally no one to take my hours but frankly that’s not my problem at all. i tried to work with her but now i don’t know how much longer i can wait.
autistic struggles in the work place
So I've been off work sick with stress for a while, I'm capable of working from home but work won't allow me to do it because my job allegedly can't be done from home. Despite doing it from home for 18 months through the pandemic and the other 2 people who do the same job as me being allowed to work from home. Due to the amount of time spent at home I lost any tolerance I had built up over the years to the noise hypersensitivity issues I struggle with as part of my autism. We also moved to a new office which has issues with echo's because of bare cement walls and ceilings as well as being poor built so everything creaks in the slightest bit of wind. I've explained all these issues to work multiple times and have essentially been told to get over it. As I…
Travel Agency or MLM?
Does anyone have any advice/insight on working for travel agencies or working as a travel consultant? I am way too stressed out by my current job and believed until recently it was my office environment, but now I am thinking that the field I am currently in is just not right for me. I was looking into some WFH positions and came across a couple travel agent ads and thought about looking into it, but from my basic research and a couple responses to postings I've applied for, I am getting some weird pyramid scheme vibes. Most of the “interviews” I was invited to attend were time-slotted, hour long “Intro Presentations” and several seemingly different companies sent me very similar verbiage on the emails. Wondering if anyone has has any experience/success in the travel arrangement industry? Thanks! 🙂
