I started a new job almost a year ago. VERY long story short – it’s like working at a high school. Everyone is toxic, talks shit about each other, and management plays favorites. I have no control over my department because my department head gets high with my employees after work so they basically just brush me off when I talk. The stereotypical “terrible job and I need to leave ASAP” scenario. How do I explain short employment with a company as a manager?

Why block out names?
How are we supposed to be holding people accountable if the names are blocked out. Publicly shame these people for being assholes. Stop blocking names out.
RaDonda Vaught was staffed as a resource nurse at Vanderbilt. This apparently is a “help-all” type of position. She had two years experience as a nurse at that point. She was asked to give a dose of Versed to a claustrophobic patient who was being downgraded from ICU to stepdown, was getting an MRI on the way to the stepdown. She had to give the medicine and then go on immediately to a different task. She also had a trainee with her. Again, this is a nurse with two years experience, being the “help-all” for multiple floors AND training a new hire. She had to override to get out Versed. This is because, at that point in time at Vanderbilt, most or all meds had to be overridden. The patient she was giving the med to had already had 20 other meds overridden to give to her. She inadvertently got…
This swine of a company West Marine reopened in April 2020, and tried to force everyone back to work with the threat of ratting out those who refuse to the state unemployment agencies. I was not about to let myself be forced into risking my life serving rich boaters. So seeing this trap, I did what any antiwork person would do. I “developed” covid like symptoms, including authentic looking covid rash. Then I spoke to the HR person, and said, I really would like to come back to work, when and if I feel better. I was given covid leave, which enabled me to avoid being forced back into that god awful slave wage job. This allowed me to remain qualified for unemployment during the entire time pandemic unemployment benefits were available in my state. Never let sleazy employers risk your safety.
Given a shitty review
I've been a nurse for 18 years, worked in this hospital for 10. Today when going over my review I was given a 3 out of 5 in “competency.” I questioned why this was, as I have always received great reviews in the past. I was told that our CFO instructed supervisors to give all PRN employees an average review in the 3s. She shared with me that she also received a review in the 3s. Cool. No retention bonus for per diem, and now they are giving us artificially low reviews to justify not giving us raises. It's so demoralizing that I typed up my notice tonight and am seriously considering turning it in tomorrow.
