They gave $2,000 a month to people who couldn't work because of covid. It's not a lot but it was better than what minimum wages were getting. Pretty good argument for universal basic income…
after the meeting:
Quit the 9 to 5
Just generated my resignation and let HR know. Iβm leaving the rat race and taking some time off. I was on a good project for a year then had to roll off. HR said find a new project or get an unpleasant call next time. So I interviewed internally and found new work long term. Boss says thatβs not an option and proceeds to place me on short term high stress projects that works weekends. I initially was going to suck it up and push through but life is too short. I tried for two weeks and realized that was my worst two weeks in a long time. Iβm not giving two weeks notice and it feels great. Heck I might not even open my laptop again to read the bossβ response.
This sums it up
Raising A Glass
Let give a round of applause for voting, nearly two thousand years of democracy and we're still arguing what rights humans have under company policy. A toast to shark eyed economists and black hearted traditionalists for always asking, “are we being too nice to the rest of the population?” And always answering from the bottom of it's pocketbook, “Yes.” Without you we wouldn't have Phantom Phone Syndrome or plastic in our blood, but it was all worth it for the incurable forms of cancer and climate change. We salute, bow, prostrate and flagellate in hopes of one day being you, but knowing all the while that rigged legislation and militarized law enforcement would never let us reach your golden aura. May we die faster so that later generations may not witness our crippling depression and aggressive decrepitude. π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯

I just stopped by my local Walgreens to pick up four prescriptions, two of which I am in immediate need of a refill for and really won't enjoy accidentally detoxing from. Get there 20 before close just to find out that their already reduced hours have been further reduced, no notice whatsoever online. Poor girl at the desk said it was because they can't find staff to work. They've started to close completely on Sundays too (not opposed, but also not advertised) so guess I'll be there Monday at 8. Why the FUCK do we deserve to just suck it up and go without because these corporations can't get their heads out of their asses and pay fairly? I know that pharmacists themselves typically get paid pretty decently, but you know they have a pile of student loans to pay off with what might otherwise be a comfortable living salary.…
