I just wanted to share with everyone my recent experience in starting a job at my local Wendy's franchise, to inform people of why Wendy's may be a bad choice, as well as a reminder for why we're all here. This is a bit of a doozy, I'll try to keep it short, but I want to make sure I don't forget anything either. I'll start at the beginning… The Interview: I got the job after calling to ask if they were hiring. My local Wendy's has multiple signs up that state they're hiring at $18 an hour. Awesome I thought! I wanted to work there to encourage other businesses to raise their hiring rate, plus it'd be a good chunk of money while I prepare to move. In my personal experience, the most career-minded and work-as-lifestyle people I know have identified as women. Meanwhile, the people I know who view jobs as nothing more than a way to get money have tended to be men. I can't speak for any other gender identities.
