Can’t afford to hire a homeless person
*NOTE: I'm from the Netherlands * So yesterday I was approached by a homeless man. I was waiting at a bus stop to take a bus home, it was about 11 at night. I was pretty sick (thankfully not covid) but I had to be somewhere that evening so by the time I met him I was in a bit of a fever haze. I still am to be honest lol. He came up to me and asked me for some spare change, he told me he was going to sleep at a nearby shelter, but they gave his bed to someone else and he needed a few euros more to sleep somewhere else. I had just taken all the change out of my pockets the other day, but there was an atm right across the street so since I had 3 minutes before my bus I dashed over there…
Hi guys, First post here, so basically I've worked for a metal foundry for 3 years now and been nothing but loyal and hard working as i really enjoy the job . It's only me and the owner who works there and we've actually usually got a good relationship. However I've been off ill for the last 3 days and actually tested positive last night so I'm currently awaiting a pcr test. I informed my boss this and he was trying to get me to go in regardless, he's high risk anyway due to having a partial lung removal, I wasn't comfortable with this and after checking government guidelines I have been informed that I should stay home if I have symptoms. I have been on my sofa barely able to move and sweating ungodly amounts so much so that i havent been able to sleep next to my amazingly…
I have been sitting at home doing nothing for about 3 weeks now, and will sit at home doing nothing for another 3 weeks. In the second week of February I was evicted. It was in a state I'm not from that has management companies that view an eviction as an automatic do-not-rent-to, even though I was offering up to 5 months advance rent. I couldn't do much about it, so I dropped my in-person college classes, packed all my shit, and moved back home to Chicago. I'm currently crashing in a friend's spare room while I wait for my new place to be ready next week. I have a job offer that doesn't start until 3/21, so I'm just vibing at home and I've never been happier. I wake up at 11, walk the dog, work out, do some creative writing, and play a bunch of video games. This…
Is big brother watching?
Just started a new fully remote job which relies heavily on other people moving projects forward, and so a fair bit of downtime on a daily basis. I would like to know if there is any way I can see if my work laptop has any corporate spying software installed to monitor clicks or mouse movement etc… I'm fairly computer literate but I'm not a programmer or anything and certainly don't want to poke the beast by making it look like I'm checking. Could some more tech savvy people give some advice on what I could do?
