For the record: I left and now have a nice job that I love and I’m so glad I got out when I did Recently, I was driving around doing errands with my BF on a day off. It was a nice day and nothing was planned and we were having a good time together. Then I got this horrendous anxious feeling out of nowhere. My stomach clenched and I got a little shaken and felt just miserable. I asked my boyfriend to turn the radio off because the radio wasn’t helping. It was NPR weekend edition. Then I realized it was the music. Every Sunday for two years I would pull into work right as that music was coming on at the top of the hour and I knew it was the start of a shitty day. I had a terrible, terrible supervisor that I had tried to take…
Why aren’t we outing companies?
As we've seen time and time again on this subreddit, poor business practices, hiring strategies, and failed HR, I think it's time to out companies. It's time to make it publicly known how companies treat their employees more than on job posting sites. Companies that don't treat their workers right, don't deserve to do business.
I gave a 5 day notice because even though they didn’t deserve any notice and I wish I could stick it to the man, I really didn’t want my team to struggle. 2 of them became quite good friends and I knew they would be stuck with all of what I left behind. Anyway, 10 days after my last day (15 days after notice), the COO messaged me on LinkedIn. I had begun my new job already and didn’t really care about the previous COO. I ignored it. She asked for some content and some passwords that I had already provided prior to leaving. Because I knew my boss would misplace the passwords (she literally did the day I sent them to her), I sent them to the other 2 coworkers. The content was on a hard drive because I tried to put them in two separate places – our…
USA/Texas Guys and Gals, I applied for a professional position at this holdings company in Texas. I was offered the position, and passed the background check. I looked at my offer letter, and had the option to opt out of the arbitration agreement, which I exercised, and it had the following text: You understand that you will not be subject to retaliation if you exercise your right to assert claims or opt-out of coverage under this Dispute Resolution Agreement. The company made it a big deal that I opted out of arbitration in writing, and soon after, the job offer was rescinded with a totally BS reason days before my start date. Fortunately for me, my current company gave me a counter offer that exceeded this new job's offer, which I accepted, but this shows that companies will give you the option to opt out of arbitration, but then pull…
thank you for all your hard work lollll
I Just Walked Out On My Shift
I'm currently being investigated by HR because of complaints of my performance, despite the fact that I constantly do other people's jobs, stay late, come in early, etc. Two of the people that reported me are managers that are currently sitting in the break room watching TV while I do prep by myself. Over the hypocrisy, going home. Putting in my two weeks notice when I get there. [Edit: I'm putting in my two weeks because I still need whatever money I can get before my next job. Ya boi is broke. However, no I will no longer feel pressured about this. What are they gonna do, fire me?]
