Just a peeve i wanna make sure people are informed of, ive worked in a lot of retail jobs with a lot of focus on “labor percent”. Management and a lot of coworkers love praising a low percent, even down to the single digits. The labor % is what percentage of profits the workers are getting. As a laborer you should be wanting the opposite, a higher percent is a bigger share of the profits. Remind your coworkers it is literally the money they make. Its especially bad here in the south, workers so brainwashed theyll work for free in an effort to lower the number. Or worry about what a pay raise will do to that number.
I used to work a crappy job making crappy pay but my probation period was 90 days. I got a new job and their probation period is 6 months. Their pay is much higher though. VTO is possible but it looks bad. What am I suppose to do? Work and work through 6 months with no break except the weekends. Some health concerns started popping up that requires doctor appointments. I need to take time off. I didn’t plan for these health concerns. I wish their probation period was shorter. I like my job and all but I can’t be working and working without a break. I want to be able to take at least 1 day…

I asked if there is another person to alternate this responsibility with because surely they don’t expect me to just put my life on hold every weekend and their response was no but we can possibly discuss this in the future. I’m so fucking frustrated. I need this job I haven’t been able to land a job in months and it’s starting to weigh on me but I know this job is already trying to take advantage of…
