work 9-5, come home, eat, take a shit, sleep, rinse and repeat That's it? Really? Just coz I wasn't born into wealth? Fuck this shit, soon I'll quit this BS I call 'life'. Reincarnation as a rich guy is my only hope it seems
Let’s become a Lobby?
What are your thoughts on this? I think it's the best way to fight fire with fire.
“Ursula Burns—first Black woman CEO in Fortune 500—on work-life balance” https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2022/03/14/ursula-burns-first-black-woman-ceo-in-fortune-500-on-work-life-balance.html
Trust me, this doesn't have anything to do with me wanting to be an awesome little worker bee, and everything to do with me not wanting to dump a bunch of work on my team at the last minute when I can quite easily do the job from home (we have the staff to handle it too, so it's not like it's that big of a deal, but it's just so very dumb). So the place I work, like so many others, recently ordered all of us back to the office after two very clearly successful years of telework (only two days a week, so it's not terrible, but anyway). It's been alright so far despite the return of the various clock watchers who like to monitor how often people use the bathroom (I know, a different rant entirely, but seriously, what the hell?). Anyway, onward to the cavalcade of…
A new job role can change a person.
I don’t know wether this has happened to any of you and I sure hope that if it hasn’t it never does as it can cause not only an awkward workplace but a toxic one as well. I’ve known this person who we will call Jim sorry to any Jim’s out there but I’ve known Jim for about 4 years and every time I’ve seen him around or in the canteen he’s been having a laugh with the colleagues including myself of course. Recently he applied for a new role in the company which would soon make him a new trainer and of course to no ones surprise at the time he got the job! We were so happy for him and when…
I woke up this morning feeling very anti work. I’ve been at a defense contractor position for almost 3 years and I woke up this morning thinking that an ethical decision would be to quit today on the spot. Yay or nay? Money isn’t an issue and everyone is amazing at my current job – I just can’t mentally handle the 40% attrition rate that we’ve had in the past year. Maybe it’s time to swap careers and become a plumber…
No pajamas, kids.
“You can’t stay home in your pajamas all day,” Mr. Adams said at an event to announce his economic development team. “That is not who we are as a city. You need to be out cross-pollinating ideas, interacting with humans.” …. “We just had our best week since Covid began in 2020 — occupancy last week was over 30 percent,” said Scott Rechler, chairman and chief executive of RXR Realty, a major commercial real estate firm and another adviser to the mayor. “That’s not a number I’m thrilled with — it’s usually in the 90s — but every CEO and head of H.R. has a plan in place to bring people back in the next 60 to 90 days.”https://www.nytimes.com/live/2022/03/20/world/covid-19-mandates-cases-vaccine#pandemic-recovery-masks-nyc
