I am a manager at a tech “startup.” Our team was hired to come in and spin up a specific process to help the company grow. Our workload has been about 5x what was projected in the interview, so I’ve been asking my boss, HR, leadership (everyone in the company) for another worker on my team. My friend who works at a similar company has more than 10 people on their team; we have three. I raised alarm bells about the problem a month ago, but my bosses didn’t believe me, and now we’re in deep sh%t on our projects. I’m working 12, 13 hours a day with no lunch or breaks to keep my team from having to burn out. My house is a mess. I’m eating trash fast food. No time for any hobbies or relaxing. Just sleep and work. I’m not sleeping well, though, and my gallbladder…

I put in a one week notice via email this morning. ( I have another, better job lined up already) Its also important to mention that my manger rarely looks at his email. I will not be mentioning it to his face unless asked about it. I want to see how long it will take for him to notice. I’ll update you guys accordingly.

If I price an item on eBay I want as much money as I got the item for even if I’ve used it. It isn’t worth what I’m asking but it’s so frustrating that people won’t pay it. I’m going to lose my livelihood if people won’t sacrifice their money so that I can get full price for these items. The eBay community should be like a family, pay me full price or this whole community will fall apart. Why is it that no one wants to pay more than it’s worth anymore?

I always want to understand what I perceive to be opposing viewpoints and I’ve been reading posts for about a month now. Here are some questions I have: Granted every country/state/region would have different requirements… but what would this group consider a livable wage range? How many hours a week is too many and why? Lastly, sometimes the comments sections are pretty divided on this; do you believe that an employer has a reasonable right to quality work if you agreed to work there? Had a interview with a very bad company ericsion tpa which said was hiring for crm job role in a but the work they said me was very different those 2 guys just want to break every person coming for interview for their sadistic pleasure and as per their view even a ceo work is called back end job these are the people who search for 10 years experience person for a beginners pay

So I started working for a moving company as a means to supplement income for my “main job” which was at a grocery store. Eventually I wound up leaving the grocery store to feel more comfortable with working in the pandemic as the moving job had minimal contact with customers. Was not my first choice but took what I had and was even being paid more than the grocery store and given a dollar raise after about 9 months with the company. Fast forward a year to now over 2 years of employment and I still can’t get my boss to tell me when there’s work more than a day in advance. He will often just send out a group text to me and my coworkers saying “work tomorrow @ [time]“ with no further details even after requesting for them sometimes. The work will be far from consistent.
