I’ve been working at a small manufacturing plant that’s part of a larger chain of plants across several states for the last two years. When I first got hired things weren’t looking good for the plant and the owner personally came in to fix the issues. I was just a temp in an entry level position and he liked my work ethic so he offered me a shift supervisor position. I took the offer and have been steadily getting raises from him directly for over a year now. Out of the blue about a week ago the plant manager (which I’ve had no issues with until now) started handing out write ups to my whole shift for bad quality product. I thought this was strange but just thought he was making a point about checking for imperfections. I stayed on top of my checks but two days later he writes…
My Former Boss Is Getting Served
My former boss, she's a character. She would project her anxiety and emotional baggage onto me while I was her personal assistant. She would bother me in the middle of the night to do this. She had a problem with me having personal relationships outside of work because they infringed on her ability to have me at her absolute beck and call at night and over the weekends. Despite being a personal assistant I still had working hours, which she would frequently disregard to force me to sit there and be her shrink under the guise of it being work related. She cut my pay by hundreds of dollars and still expected the same level of service even after the pay cut. I went on a short trip out of town to visit my girlfriend, and she decided she wanted me to do my job remotely with no notice. I…
Sorry about this wall of text, but often times the struggles workers face are compunded and exacerbated by horrific landlords like mine and I feel the need to post my experience here and to reach out for advice: My gf and I moved into this place last August so I could finish up my final semester at school, and we've always been excellent tenets; paying rent on time, no guests/parties, no noise complaints. Our LLs threatened us with eviction a week before Christmas because our puppy peed a little bit on the sidewalk. This was the first incident we had, but it definitely wasn't the last and things only got more riduculous. When it was time to reknew our lease in Feb. they inspected the apartment and said that they couldn't reknew the lease because we have “too much cardboard” (three empty moving boxes) and they could smell dog pee…
Dont forget!
Rent is due in 2 weeks Now get back to work
I realized my new coworker was an idiot
We had a casual morning meeting and someone mentioned how Canada has more union representation than the US. My coworker said “the jobs where I’m from don’t pay enough for workers to afford union dues” Is…is critical thinking really that difficult? I had to actually physically shake off the stupidity I felt in my ears.
P&O have done a capitalism
I've got an employment contract in front of me. It says, you must give us two weeks notice if you want to end the contract, otherwise you need to pay us. We'll give you two weeks notice if we need to end the contract, otherwise we'll pay you. Unless… A commercial negotiation between two companies you don't work for, and have no control over, and have no visibility into, end their contract between them. Or… If in our opinion… . Then, we can end it with no notice. Hah! Gotcha! Doublespeak… It's doubeplus good. Who comes up with this shit?! No wonder people don't want to work. Edit: Grammar.
Lost, hours before scheduled shift
Whaddup Been out of work for a while due to a back injury from the gym. I'm finally returning to work in 2 hours but a habit of anxiety, drinking, and mixed medication for the past couple weeks has put me in a bad place. I can't sleep nor find the energy to want to show up to work. This isnt a job I can just quit but I feel I could do so much better. My girlfriend is worried about me mentally and I don't blame her. I put a lot of stress on our relationship with my blackpilled mentality. I feel like I need another day but who am I kidding. I dont really know why im posting this but I fucking hate this idea of caring about a job in the modern environment. Wish me luck all
