Basically just asking, I know a lot of vets and current troops who were radicalized from their time spent in. My buddy had his thumb sliced off in a firefight and isn't given adequate medical care for chronic pain – Hence he is against the government and capital. Major General Smedley Butler wrote “War Is A Racket” – Man was a die-hard patriot, and didn't want more of his boys dying for corporate profits. He was an Anti-Capitalist and a veteran. The feeling ive gotten from Leftist parties is that military folks are prized there – The Red Army itself was formed from the White Army. If the country wants to say it “cares about it's veterans,” then come to the VA, see a deafened Gulf War Vet, a wounded infantryman, see the mental health care they give for traumatized vets.
Anyone care to elaborate on how you’ve done this? Then, others might be able to replicate what you’ve done.
Should I be mad?
I accepted a new position with a new company that starts in a few weeks. Friday, March 4th, I notified my supervisor that I would be turning in my 2 weeks notice the following Monday. I've heard of them having employees pack up and leave immediately, but I wanted to make sure I had wrapped up as much as I could before I left so I let her know early. I submitted my resignation the following Monday and got an email from my manager asking if he could call in the afternoon. He ends up calling me at 6:30 because he was on the road all day, but he's interested in seeing what it would take to keep me around. (He spent the first 5-10 minutes telling me how awful it will be to work at the other company). I tell him I'll think it over and call him back.…
Best way to give 2 week notice?
I signed a contract that I would give two weeks notice. Currently it’s the middle of the day. I’m done. I’ve hit my breaking point for toxic work place and Hr abuse. Currently are in the middle of an internal audit and coworker just had a death in the family. Internally I feel bad but I have been crying at my desk and home. Family says I need to be done. Nothing lined up, did get a raise but we will be ok with one income for a bit

Has been full of reels with these real estate “experts” who seem to be encouraging the working class to fall into debt in order to be rich. It makes me sad seeing these people trick working class people into these get rich quick things, when the majority of them won't make it. All just to fill their pockets when they give their lessons people can just easily research.
I have a friend who just accepted a job with a new company and is waiting on the background check and whatnot before putting in her notice at her current company. The issue is that she received a below average performance review recently (BS system that forces people to fit a bell curve and mgmt basically made her boss lower her score down a point), and she just found out today that she’s being put on an “action plan” for her score. She heard that companies can disclose this information during the background check. Does anyone know if that’s actually true?
So… never thought I’d be posting here but here we are. I work graveyards for a non-profit. I love what I do, it has a lot of meaning and gives me purpose. It doesn’t pay great, but I can make the bills with it. Well, my boss doesn’t know how to write a schedule. Since I work graveyards and he has never worked a graveyard in his life, he often gets confused as to how clocks work. He scheduled me for Monday and Tuesday (note I never work Mondays so I had to pull a 24+ hour day to make it to work Monday) 1 am to 8 am and didn’t schedule me for Wednesday. I thought this was intentional, since I was supposed to be moving job positions within the company and it required me to go back to a daytime schedule and I would need a day to…
What is late anyway?
I had a terrible temp job in an office full of temps. (You don’t have to give temps health insurance, and this company looooooved that.) We had to sign into the system that clocks us in by 8am sharp every morning. If you logged in after 8am, you would get written up and have to get your manager to sign a form where you explain your reason for being late. A dream job, right? One morning, I got stuck waiting at the elevator banks in the lobby because there was a huge crowd. Once I finally got to the 10th floor, I had to RUN to my desk to sign in. Alas, my official clock-in time was 8:00:02am. Two whole seconds late, and I was written up. Total BS. I was quite bitter about the whole situation, so in the “reason” section of the form my manager had to sign,…
I just want to vent, things are feeling pretty hopeless for me right now. I bought into the whole “learn to code” push that's been happening for the last decade and attended a coding bootcamp where I learned full stack development. After completing that I got an internship that went great. Shortly after that, however, my Mom was diagnosed with a very aggressive brain cancer. I abandoned my job search and moved home to take care of her during the last few months of her life. This was in 2019, and shortly after she had passed and her affairs had been settled the pandemic hit and it felt like the world came to a grinding halt. I was unemployed for all of 2020, but I was fortunate enough to have her house to live in so at least I wasn't homeless. In 2021 I found a job at a company…
About six months ago I really stepped up my work ethic and my job and made a decided effort to crank up my productivity and efficiency. Why, you ask? Because I was tired of always being behind, playing catch up, and constantly being stressed to the brink. I figured I would rather work really, really hard and at least be able to leave my office everyday with everything I needed to do be done. And I did. I am absolutely killing my job. I even had one day where it was lunch time and I literally had nothing left to do. But it was because I was putting in the WORK. And how has my boss responded? Probably no surprise, but she just started absolutely piling on work for me. All new assignments-me. Other co-workers responsibilities-me. Office projects-me. I am doing more work in every measurable way than anyone else…
