Thought this whole situation seemed pretty anti work so I decided to share it here So Ive been recently working as a dishwasher at an old pub and have a situation with a particular person. You see dishwashing (at least where I’m at) is a two person job. One person rinses the dishes off and puts them in the machine and the other takes the dishes out of the machine when its done and walks around the kitchen giving the plates back to the chefs. I do the second job of taking the dishes out of the machine and my coworker (for the sake of this story lets just call him Bob) does the first job. Seems like an easy arrangement right? Well you would think You see Bob gives everyone a hard fricken time, some more then others basically the more you around him the more snarky complaining you…
I’m gonna need advice.
So I basically got told I'm doing my job wrong even though I'm doing it efficiently. I got some extra rooms to do tonight but I usually get them down within my alloted time. Apparently I can't do that and the yes man of the place wants me to write/stay for an extra hour. Do I just go “fuck it.” And not stay the extra hour? Or do I stay the extra hour doing butt fuck nothing?
Just an example of this wonderful job market right now: I went into open interviews at Mann+ Hummel a couple of weeks ago and got turned away because I worked there previously. I was told that HR would reach out to me. HR never reached out to me. I received an email today that is generic in nature asking me to come to the same open interview to be interviewed. I will not be doing that. I will get turned away. The job market is a joke right now. Also, I got there first thing in the morning and said in line for 45 minutes just for them to walk through the line asking who had worked there previously. I am so tired of this crap.
