Oh, the irony.
I work at a convenience store/pharmacy and on Monday I had a gun pulled on me after asking a woman and her three friends to leave because they were trying to get behind the pharmacy counter, treating workers, and throwing everything they could at us. When we got to the front door she pulled a pistol out and started screaming about how she was going to k*ll me and everyone in the store. She drove off after saying she was getting her friends to come help. We called the police and our district manager. Our manager has done NOTHING. He kept the store open, didn’t let me take the rest of my shift off, and never called or messaged me about it after. Three days later I tried to get in context with him. I feel this is a manager’s wet dream
Work is pushing me to suicide.
I’m in upper management position (I understand that that probably won’t garner a lot of sympathy from this forum). But I’m trying to make a difference in the workplace. Trying to bend to everyone’s requests and help all the more service led departments. So much so that I have to work with everyone else but have the same degree of management responsibilities, it’s overwhelming and crushing working 60+ hours a week, and my mind is plagued by work responsibility, even when I’m not there. It’s leading me to self harm and I’m scared to be at home alone at times. I was raised with the mentality that I should be lucky to have a job and work as hard as possible, always placing your own needs second, I can never say no to people, but It’s at the cost of my own happiness and humanity and is soon to be…
