I work for a billion dollar company that has chains spanning the entire country. Chances are, you or someone you know has stocked their pantry with groceries from the banner I work at. About six months ago, the company changed uniform policy and told people they’d be responsible for purchasing the new uniforms (majority of employees are minimum wage or close to it). Well fast forward six months and hundreds of people flat out refused to buy the new uniforms so the company was forced to switch back to the old uniforms…which they had to repurchase for literally thousands of employees.
I have been out of the workforce for roughly 2 yrs now. ive gotten several interviews but they say im not a good fit for being 30 weeks pregnant and needing one day off a week. Should i just not disclose this information? i dont think it is illegal..
How can I survive without a 9-5
I've been complacent with a 9 to 5 lifestyle however I want more from life then to just survive. What are some ways that you guys made a liveable income without working for a boss?
I got Jelly of the Month Clubbed
Edit: I'm aware that prorating based on timeframe is normal, or makes sense, my problem is not with my bonus being too low, my problem is my supervisor told be I would be receiving a certain amount of money, and I received significantly less than that amount If you've seen National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, you know where this is going. I generally enjoy my job, I work for a medical manufacturer and we've been especially busy due to covid. Overall I've really liked feeling like my work has had an impact. The downside of this is that we've been working extra hours to keep up with customer needs. We've had between 10 and 20 hours of overtime every week this year so far. Everyone on my line is absolutely exhausted and morale was getting low, but we were all excited because our company is known for good bonuses on the…
I've been working for a small company since summer of last year I busted my ass for this company I gave up much of my personal life I sacrificed my physical health for this company But I produced results! I turned things around, convinced several customers not to cut and run and stay on I fired an employee who I know was stealing but only caught her in time card fraud which was enough to get her gone I hired the best admin assistant who cut many of the company's expenses I hired a gal who has the best positive attitude and learned everything we threw at her The entire team got laid off yesterday Everyone gone the company can't afford to pay our payroll that's due next week Yet the owner of the company was boasting about having an extra $1000 a few weeks ago and wanted to buy…
I want to tell you a little story. There is a caregiver who hooked up with John Doe. The coworker who sits next to this person at work says… “John Doe?!? I heard he has Herpes!” The caregiver freaks out and proceeds to enter Epic (where she store health information) and she digs and digs and digs through John Doe's medical chart looking all over for the positive Herpes STD test…. do you know what she found? Jack shit. The caregiver was fired immediately by HR. And rightfully so. Now this caregiver handles referrals for things like surgery authorizations for Providence Medical Group (PMG), which is where PMG gets all their money from… when she was let go it was like we turned off the water to the sink, but instead of water coming out it's god damn Benjamins. PMG leadership freaks out (I can name them) and they appeal…
OP got let go during their honeymoon..
A few weeks ago I had horrible kidney stones I should have been home but I needed the money and work insisted they needed me to build this building in the middle of no where. The only thing in this town was a gas station. I made good progress then felt a lightning bolt of pain. Since I am building bathrooms I was forced to go to the bathroom in this gross gas station where I laid on the floor for an hour and 45 minutes until I passed the stone so long the clerk unlocked the door and thought I died. Work was aware of my situation and them forcing me to come in. The next day i was called into the office they told me since the GPS said i was at the gas station that long they wouldn't be paying me for it. Oh and they weren't…
After boasting about record profits at the billion dollar (yes with a B) company I work for and only getting a 4% raise this year, I've started looking for a new job just to see what's out there. I've had 5 interviews with local companies. I always ask the question “Work/life balance is important to me, what do you like to do outside of work? Some of the responses I've received: I have 3 kids. Oh you know, family stuff. I'm usually working. I work so much I usually nap on the weekends. Uhhh are you serious? Please stop giving your life for these companies that don't care about you. /rant
