antiwork and not anti-succes/money
Why did this subreddit get so hostile and stuck up. It is the same energy that a lot of people are trying to escape from. This subreddit was once helping and guiding people away from toxic workplaces and getting more people to life live. Now it's just about hating on people with succes, and bring a lot of hostile energy to different opinions. Sad to see this subreddit evolve into every other toxic and boring subreddit. Sad times.
STOP ASKING FOR HIGHER WAGES!
I know what you are thinking– “But I deserve higher wages!” I am here to tell you no, no you don't. What you deserve is the ACTUAL VALUE OF YOUR LABOR. Anything less and your boss is stealing from you. For example, let's say you work for a guy who makes gigosmurts. By himself, he can make 10 gigosmurts every day and each one brings him a profit of $50. $500 profit per day. Pretty sweet, eh? But no, he wants more profit. So then he hires an employee to also make gigosmurts and pays the employee 20 bucks an hour. For many of us, that would be a sweet wage. But recall, making a gigosmurt brings 50 bucks in profit. So in an 8-hour day, you produce 500 bucks in profit but only get paid 160? Why does boss deserve the 340 excess profit? The point is that HE…
Sorry if this isn’t allowed, but there are around 10 cameras in my work place. One right outside the door of the bathrooms, one in a social area, one in all the work places. I work in a lab and even the admin buildings have cameras. I got yelled at since they’ve been seeing me socialize more with a coworker my age since everyone there is much older. Yeah I get it. I have to work and can’t socialize. But I find it weird that they’re picking everything up through cameras. It makes me feel a bit scared. They commented on my frequent bathroom use since the camera is right there in the bathroom hallway. Idk I just find is extreme unsure if this is normal. But if it is I’ll get my shit together
I’m always late to meetings, always.
I work phones and walk around all day for work. we have A LOT of meetings, mostly remote, because I'm out in the field all the time. I'm 5-10 minutes late to EVERY meeting and spend that time goofing off on the phone or napping or pooping or whatever. It's my life, it's my time, and management can waste our patience and daily capacity to make themselves feel necessary if they want. But i'll never take it seriously. I used to be 1-5 minutes late to every meaning. My plan is to basically stop making meaningful contributions to work by the 2nd year (i'm 14 months in). I know some will say it's “lazy” or “taking advantage” but like a lot of jobs my company ask us to scam people in 100 different ways. It's hard work but it's not necessary work for society and not productive or fulfilling for…
