I need to rant. I work for a big named company (can’t give the name). Our time is tracked down to the last second. We are tracked by every click, scroll, typing, etc that we do. Each day we have to use 3 different systems that we have to log in and out of for breaks, lunches etc. I stepped away for 1-2 minutes just to get a drink and when I came back I was told I would need to stay on a minute later to make up the time.. It’s frustrating because a BIG boss was giving a presentation to my group and forgot to mute themself. Where were they? Out shopping!! We could hear them asking for different sizes of clothing items they wanted to purchase. I feel like I can’t even take a few seconds to breathe without getting an email. We are literally suppose to…
Just a little laugh
City employee punished
My sister is an older public city employee for a mid-sized Ohio town. She was recently punished for complaining about her salary (which is public data) to a coworker. She complained that new, younger employees are paid more than her. Her coworker reported her to the manager. She received a written reprimand. She was told that she was due for an equity salary adjustment to fix her pay, but, because if her write up, that she’d no longer be getting the salary adjustment. Are public employees in Ohio allowed to discuss salary or is the speech not protected for city workers? Are there any penalties for the manager who retaliated?
Y’all still boycotting Kelloggs right?
Baltimore City Bus Rider
Whoever posted the bar code advertisement to this subreddit on the MTA bus is awesome! It is good to know there are other socialist here in Baltimore City!
It's 46 degrees and rainy out. After clocking in my boss walks by and tells me drivers are waiting in their cars today (I deliver pizza) and on my way out adds “You're not allowed to wear your jacket anymore, did you buy one of ours?” Of course I didn't, the store only pays me $5 an hour and the tips in my area are the worst I've ever seen. I've had nights where I go 4 deliveries in a row with no tip at all. I told her no and she just repeats “Okay but you can't wear that jacket anymore.” I would understand a hoodie covering my shirt, but I have a knock off Northface jack from Walmart, plain black with no logos and unzipped. At the end of my shift I'm considering telling them to only schedule me if it's 60 degrees or warmer. Any advice?
I got an interview with a 40 minute notice. Got ready real quick and drove 30 minutes there. After filling out some papers and talking for 40 minutes I got told I can't be hired because of driving record. Way to waste my time!
