So I have a good job that I like, but because it's a 24 hr service I also have bad shift sleep disorder. I called today to get my FMLA fallows. Intermittent? Yes. Doctors appointment? None of your business. “We can't process the paperwork unless you answer.” Yes, doctor Then she read a disclaimer that basically states that the company is allowed to pursue you and take away your license if we see fit. Basically. I laugh and say the fact that the company is asking about my personal life is highly illegal. She retorts and say if you abuse it its not. I say of course, but a company is not allowed to get into my personal life. So question, am I wrong? I have the doctors appointment because I do have the issues. But I felt like none of there business. Or did I just dig my own…
And told us all that were we to do such a thing, it would hurt the bottom line and we would cost the industry millions of dollars. It felt really great to know they care so much
This could qualify as a LPT too. I have worked 6+ jobs since 2008, and never once has a recruiting agency helped me. In fact, I had multiple experiences where these agencies were a complete waste of time and energy. I hear and see a TON of recruiters on job boards and I want to share my experience working with this unregulated business model: Recruiting agencies get paid to send the “right” candidate, not the ones who apply. This means if you apply to a job on LinkedIn/Indeed you'll be placed in a pile of other candidates and the agency picks the “right” candidate Recruiters will usually label the job description “our client” or “we are seeking applicants” to modestly admit they are an agency without really saying so. Usually the job description and salary is a bit more appealing to get more applicants There's a slimy method in which…
I don’t get sick time off in my new job
Im excited for my new job but just found out since its a full time position i dont qualify for STO and am expected to use my PTO if i am sick. So I could get sick and lose all my PTO I was saving up for a trip w my friends? How is this fair. Is there anything I can do about this….
The best way is to carpool, and I'm talking full car carpooling, split the fare on gas and rotate cars, whatever. If we get enough people to carpool, it'll force oil and gas companies to start eating the cost of so-called inflation! The current inflation is simply company greed and refusing to lose even the smallest amount from their profit margin. Why is it that when it takes a month or so for gas to get to the pump, we get smacked with higher prices? Greed. Plain and simple. Now I know what you're thinking carpooling may suck, but the alternative is simply refusing to commute to work. Now I know many people have a job that can be WFH, but a lot of blue-collar folks can't do it and still make enough to pay their bills. It has worked before and I don't doubt it will again.
I can assume psychosis rate's have went up, for most people low paid work is not enough to live on food has went up in price. Car fuel is expensive, rent has gone up.
I’m currently writing this from my cubicle. I work for a hospital and I am a dental biller. When I started this job I was made aware that this was a contract to permanent hire position. It’s been 10 months and no one has said a word about me getting hired. This job has no health benefits, no sick days, no vacation days, or even holidays. If you want to take the holiday off that’s fine but you’re not going to get paid for it. Oh but here’s the kicker. I am often complimented about how great of a job I am doing and how the previous employees didn’t do shit. As soon as I got here, I was cleaning up the mess they made. I am in charge of submitting claims for 8 offices. These offices see an average of 30 to 60 patients a day! I am even…
The aboriginals want to go back to gardening and have been saying we all should…. . Why arent we going back that way of living? 🤷isn't that the ultimate working for yourself? Gathering and providing for your family? 🤨
Should I feel bad about this?
I've been out of work 4 weeks for a surgery I needed. Could have stayed out longer but didnt, came back when I felt able and the doctor cleared me. 4 days in to my 1st week back and I find out a family member whose had cancer passed away this morning. I'm apprehensive about mentioning this to my boss because I've just come back to work. I know I shouldn't feel like this but I cant be the only one that would be thinking the same in this situation can i?
I live in the States and am on Medicaid, however, I am curious to know if you can change the price of medical treatment or essential medication for the patients who have to pay out of pocket for insurance rather than letting greedy corporations charge whatever they want even for holding your newborn baby.
