The IRS, US Government, and State have taken out a total of $5000 out of my paychecks last year for taxes. I work full time and get paid $17/hr at a job where if something goes wrong, you can really hurt yourself (ex. getting sucked into an engine if you’re not careful) I’m trying to make ends meet. What do they pay me back in taxes? Barely $700. I only get 14% of the money, I gave away, back from these leaches in Washington. This country is fucking ridiculous.
So basically I had a customer today we will call her Sandra, she runs a business and charged her customer a thousand dollars through our service. so when she charges ther customer's card our service takes out the money from her customer and we fund it to sandra's account. A few months after that transaction our company took that thousand dollars money out from sandra's account and notified her that her customer disputed the transaction and that we returned the money to their customer. but we spoke to her customer and their bank and they said they never disputed it and never recieved the money back at all. So sandra has thousand dollars less on her bank account and her customer also has thousand dollars less on the bank coz they never recieved the money back at all. When I escalated it to my supervisor all they can say is…
I worked night shifts as a manager in a four star hotel, for five years. While during the pandemic, the administration decided to freeze management salaries, as business was slow, unionised staff members were still getting there negotiated raises. After two years of covid, they tried to justified the fact they were paying me about the same as a new hired by stating they didn't had budget and underlining I wasn't paying fees for the union to negotiate for me and therefore was saving on that amount and didn't need a larger pay than other employees even considering my position. I left and now work day shift in a union as a clerk for another hotel chain for the same pay.
I work at a small grocery store and just need to get some hurt off my chest. Let me first say my boss has been one of the greatest the past year and a half, I moved and started in a new industry and he was very accommodating and understanding but I've worked in restaurants and should have learned my boundaries between boss and workers, just because your boss is friendly does not mean he or she is your friend; which was made painfully real for me tonight. This past few months have been very hard on me for various reasons and I have some mental illness nothing clinical… I don't think so at least; but enough where if shit gets too much I need to be on my own and take a second to sort shit out; like we all do. I had to work closely with my boss…

Back to the office..again why?
I work in finance and we have been WFH for the majority of the last two years. There was a short stint last summer we went back in to a hybrid schedule until surprise Covid numbers spiked and they sent us home again. Now because cases are declining we are going back next week. I personally hate working in an office. I see no point to it and it’s giving me anxiety just the thought of returning even a few days. The commute, the mindless chatter, the grey cubicles and fluorescent lights.. Our productivity was the highest its been when we were fully remote, we’ve outgrown the office during the pandemic so we now have to share desks on a staggered schedule so I don’t even sit with my team when Im there. Plus on a personal note my wife has developed physical disabilities and needs my help so working…
I was on the verge of dying and went on Massachusetts approved medical leave. This medical leave ultimately saved my life. I contacted my work stating that I was ready to return, and in response received a termination letter today. I’m devastated.
