Was wondering what would you consider a realistic and good salary, also explain if in your state cost of living is higher or lower, also cost for rent. How much dollar per hour and month should someone make?
How do yall even survive
how do you guys survive on No income or limited income teach me the way.
I was asked to share this story from one of my previous posts. https://www.reddit.com/r/antiwork/comments/t9y37e/didnt_go_above_and_beyond_ill_delete_everything/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share (names changed for privacy) Larry had built an amazing business over 45 years, creating a pretty good work environment. He listened to employees, gave bonuses based on yearly sales, bought lunch for the whole company a couple times per month, held two catered employee parties per year, and just cared about the business in general. Finally, he decided to retire and sell the business to Eric. Now, Eric had grown up working occasionally in Larry's business. He had even been a manager of one specific department for a while. I and most of the other employees didn't even know who Eric was until the transfer of ownership was announced. I need out of my current field.
In the past four months of being a welder fabricator, I have cut my leg open with an electric grinder needing 5 stitches. Taken out one of my front teeth dropping a big bolt onto my face, and today I slit my wrist open on some thin gauge steel needing 17 stitches. I lost a hell of a lot of blood and needed an ambulance and paramedics to sort me out. I got very lucky for it not to have been worse. The doctor said it looked like a shark bite. I’m taking this as my last strike to get out of this industry and the dangers it brings with it. Every job I’ve had has been lacking on safety in one way or another and I’ve finally realised that the company doesn’t care about you risking your body or life every day. Any ideas what I can look into…
Using mandatory overtime as a punishment
Which I don't mind. But I can see how the psychology of people change when they know you're just that person who they hired. I thought I had the confidence and respect but I only have it with my time. Again, I don't mind but people acting different is just interesting. Will this ever change? This happens for photographers, artisans, I think the only other way you can turn it around is if you're a findom LOL thoughts?
Found out something about my boss
Hi all, quite a long post ahead but something I need advice on. I've worked for my restaurant as a duty manager for 5 years and I've recently felt I've been stuck in a rut. I felt I've been passed up for promotion time after time and it has been put down to poor performance or similar excuses. The last 6 months or so have been awful and left me dreading work, looking for another job as well as affecting my relationship. So a week or so ago I met up with a friend I used to work with for a few drinks. After a short while he told me that my restaurant manager had been having an affair with another duty manager for the last 2 years. I wasn't entirely surprised as I'd always suspected there was something between them however I didn't really care much to think too…
