I like the idea of anti work because fuck big corporations but there are too many absolute babies on this one. “My boss didn’t buy me a 72 inch flatscreen even thought relaxing at home is essential for me to be productive when I’m in the office >:(“ Anyway. Any similar active subs where people are more realistic and don’t act like toddlers throwing a temper tantrum? Thank you!
It's sickening to see workers finally making progress on wages and then gas companies decide to gouge us for their profits. We're seeing literal war profiteering, and those in power will likely do nothing since their campaigns are full of oil/gas money. So that means it's up to the people to take action. To start with, I propose a boycott of gas stations from one of the big 4 in the US (Exxon, Shell, BP, or Chevron). Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that gas stations are typically franchises and the owner/operator sets the price. But we all see every gas station is essentially the same price, give or take maybe 5 cents. Why? Because they know most of us need the product and have to pay it – and if they all toe the line and keep the price high, they'll all reap the profits together.…
So as we all already moved into 2022 and appraisal cycle is almost close too I just want to share my story. Apparantly my work has satisfactory, sucessful and exceptional rating during annual rating. Guess what I've worked around 10-11hrs shift for last 2yrs when my shift is of 9.5hr including 1hr break. During annual review my supervisor said you're rated as successful only cause your work is monotonous and you're really good at it and don't seek interest in learning other stuff about work. Plus you don't interact much with leaders too. (Note : This is customer based company and its nothing like they're teaching data science or shit, it's just learning about other services provided by them to their customer which obviously wouldn't add any value to my resume in future. I was willing to learn MIS and Excel stuff but they're too afraid of it cause then…
-Kim Kardashian advice
I haven’t been working at my company for a very long time, but it’s pretty basic work and they treat me very well with benefits. It’s a two person office and the manager is quitting and I applied for his position because I have management experience from the past and I know our customers very well. I came with four glowing recommendations from 4 managers from other offices I worked closely with. Our supervisor explained I have to work here for 4 more months before I could move up, but they’re having trouble filling the position. He expects I’ll be running the office by myself for two to three months. I have no trouble with running the office alone because there are days I do already and I’m comfortable with the workload. My issue is that I’ll be staying at the same pay rate for picking up that extra manager…
Put in my two weeks notice
Put in my two weeks notice this past Monday, making my last day the 18th. Felt good. I wanted to leave on good terms and I didn’t want to burn any bridges with the company since I know a lot of people here. So we have a late shift calendar and each day a staff member is asked to stay while trades finish up OT work on site, usually an hour past when you would usually leave. I’m cool with that and didn’t ask to be removed even though I’m checked out at this point. My manager just told me that this Friday when I’m the scheduled late shift coverage, will be a very late night – working until midnight. He tells me I can come in late that say since of the extra hours. Two things to keep in mind – I am a salary employee not eligible for…
