Some coworkers and I had a quick conversation about unionizing and I may have let slip to other coworkers we were thinking about it. I’m worried that I committed the good ole “loose lips sinks ships” if corporate finds out. Hopefully not and things go well for us.
I've probably posted on here before under a different account. I won't go into details about what happened because I've probably made about 500 posts about this situation on Reddit on 500 different subreddits. This took place about a week or so after my 21st birthday. I had a job for about 4 months. I witnessed abuse towards the babies I was working with. I reported it and it all went to hell (for me) from there. I was called a liar, blacklisted, gaslighted, and lost my job. I went into a deep depression and cried a lot at this time. I cut my hair, bleached and dyed it, and gave myself bangs. I basically fucked up my hair and now it won't hold its curl texture and is thin. I then decided to eat my feelings away instead of coping with them. I gained about 50 pounds. To this…
0% hike after being top 2% performer.
Apparently my employer decided to give me 0% hike in my salary after being top performer! I got significantly exceeds above ratings. It is a shitty bank which ends with the west.
So I currently work at a restaurant still in a kitchen for those going through throwaway account history? Different job, currently making 17.50/h but saw a posting for my location and job listed as “up to 19/h” I'm coming up on 3months(90days) and I'm debating trying to ask for a raise, I'm just not sure currently what the best way to go about it is, as I'm relatively new and I always have workplace anxiety. Any advice? I have a handful of years of experience in kitchen work as well
Posting for my boyfriend who is a line cook for a college club restaurant. He has been trying to get one day off (this upcoming Tuesday) for two weeks and kept getting excuses from his superior. Today he asked again and the superior said no because there wasn’t enough notice (even though he was asking the last two weeks and the superior said talk to me later so I know the schedule better etc etc). He also adds that he MAY need him on Monday (his weekends are Sunday Monday) but he won’t know until Monday rolls around. My boyfriend says he’s going to be out of town for his weekend and can’t come in Monday if he isn’t scheduled and his superior got mad at him. Now we may have to cancel our vacation to visit my new baby niece a few hours drive away because of this. Does…
I work as a employee for a tooling company that makes tools for GE for airplanes. To get to the point, the higher up who is director of maintenance got a zoom call meeting with people who work at the company (he was 10 minutes late, also), and a local firefighter. They were going over drugs or something and the firefighter ask the company to participate in a survey. He sent the link out to the employees of the company. But in a drop of a hat, this higher up puts up both middle fingers and yells “FUCK YOU” to the camera, directed straight at the firefighter. So the firefighter asks “is there a problem ben?” And this dumb SOB says “I forgot to turn off my camera.” Almost the whole company of rhinestahl saw this higher up flick them off on camera. Yeah, nice one Ben. Nice disrespecting your…
I'm in mobile, so please forgive spelling and grammar errors. A few years before Covid started, my state passed a sick leave bill, requiring every employer to give their employees sick leave. For every 40 hours worked, employees received 1 hour of sick leave. I had accrued 4-5 days of sick leave by the time I got the flu in late 2019. I was too sick to work, so I decided to call in and use my sick leave for the first time. I had been sick a few times, but I worked in an industry that's not a 9-5 job. It's basically commission based service industry job and we work when our clients need us. When I was sick before, there wasn't any work due to the time of year, so sick leave didn't apply. I ended up getting the flu during a time when I had 3 jobs…
