I fully stand with Ukraine personally, but with gas prices going through the roof, why would the current administration urge people tor eternal to work? No one can afford a commute if gas prices go through the roof again.
Hospital messing with workers
Alright so get a load of this, my hospital has struggled with mandatory overtime in our department for years even before COVID started. We finally hit a reasonable level of staffing so only occasionally people are getting called in and the University of Iowa Hospital even received its largest single donation of $75 million dollars last month. These guys decide they are going to cut some of our workers pay by $7 an hour. That is about $14560 less per person and why you might ask? Truth is I don't know but they did just spend money on fixing their giant 12 story tall glass wall to the hospital because they installed it wrong the first time and now it needs redone. The result? Three people quit instantly and more are walking out the door as soon as it goes in to effect
15 years experience…here’s 2 weeks PTO
A recruiter reached out to me about a Senior Director position at a publicly traded company. I have 15 years experience in my field with great credentials. I’m reading the info and get to PTO: 2 weeks. I emailed the recruiter back about the PTO. Was told benefits are non negotiable this is what they do across the board. Are companies just this silly? What Senior Director level person is going to accept a position with that benefit?!
I (20) work as a teachers assistant at a higher school. I make around 1000 dollars a month. I used to spend around 200-250 a month on gas. (It’s a 20 minute drive to and from work every day!. Now that gas has gone up to $5/gallon, the amount I spend is double. $500 a month on gas Thats half of all my money. I work full time and I feel like my district is robbing me anyways, and now this. I was almost at a place where I could move out, but had to dip into savings for fucking gas. Half of my living expenses are fucking gas. I hate it here.
2 weeks notice? Thank you, next.
I put in my 2 weeks notice and was asked not to come in and finish it out, I wasn’t able to get my personal belongings either, never had a real problem there while working. What y’all think about this here ?
Everyday …
Millions of people go to work for someone who doesn’t care about you. Yet as a society we tolerate it. We tolerate the increase in price of common everyday things like food or gas. But we never stand up. We tolerate increased work loads without proper compensation. Everyone on this sub is a chump. Plain and simple we are chumps. It’s time for a mass call out or strike everywhere.
