Moral debate aside – employers shouldn’t be able to charge you for not being vaxxed.

Saw a post on here about a guy who had to pay a portion of his wages for not being vaccinated (this person was vaccinated already). In my eyes it is abhorrent to charge someone for coming in to work unvaccinated. It’s just another form of wage theft but a lot of people in this sub are so blinded by the vaccine debate they don’t see this. If they’re allowing you into work without a vaccine they should NOT be taking a cut of your wages !!!

Just started organizing a union at work

I just started organizing a union at work. After 3-6% raises and being lied to everyone is annoyed and I'm gathering support quickly. This is the most driven and happy I've felt in months. Unionize. Most places are a powder keg waiting for a spark. Stop running from jobs. Quitting doesn't hurt them. Let's fucking unionize.

More than 1 interview for a retail job should be banned

My last job I was there for a year. I worked 3rd shift stocking shelves while I finished my Bachelor's in Management for 14 bucks an hour. When I was hired, I had 1 interview, hired on the spot. Before that, I had 2 years in customer service, where I got lots of awards and did well in. I also worked taking care of disabled people for 5 years and had lots of positive recognition for that. I interviewed at Aldi now twice and about to be a third. First was a phone interview. Let them know about my experience. I need a job, but I'm low key annoyed with this process. My in person interview, dude ran all over the store working while I tried to basically tell him about my previous experience and trying to keep up while wearing uncomfortable dress shoes. He said because it's a fast…

Frustrated, broke, and completely done with working

So I’m sitting here with -$16.53 in my bank account, a busted up face and a broken rib. For the past two months I have worked 12-4 and then after that I worked 6-3AM. Did that every single day. My boss didn’t pay me what I was owed, so I threatened him legally. He said let’s talk and completely fucked me up. I know what you’re gonna say “cAlL tHe CoPs” or “sUe HiM” I’m fucking tired of working, I’m tired of this goddamn country, tired of being completely fucked over, tired of worrying about paying my god damn bills. Tired of having to borrow money just to put gas in my tank because I don’t make enough money. Tired of relying on unreliable people, in just fucking tired.

Just quit my toxic job

So I've worked for this company for about 5 years with no benefits, sick or personal time, retirement match plan, hell I don't even get paid over time after 40 hours yet I'm expected to work 50 plus a week. A friend of mine had a job come open in his company which is all remote work from home stuff aside from one company meeting a year where we all fly out to a specific state. I had an interview yesterday and they asked me I'd I could start Monday next week so I said yes and then called mt old job and gave them a week notice well they decided to act petty like very very petty so I just quit right there on the spot it's so very freeing.

How I made my client voluntarily pay me 1000% more and be happy about it (no clickbait)

Some Backstory:I have been doing business with this client for over a year now. I built a tool that converts one file to another and saves them around 6 hours of manual work per month. There is still some manual processing going on and thus sometimes it doesn't work – inconveniently most often on production night… I helped them. And then I asked for compensation afterwards as my help was necessary due to a screw up on their part.My mail before this interaction was basically “pay me what you want, but if you don't – you might end up with no more support”.Enjoy 😉 https://preview.redd.it/zmid9ylopzh81.png?width=650&format=png&auto=webp&s=678eed2f631c83e3df25454e93ce65846725a478 https://preview.redd.it/zgjfo6mopzh81.png?width=638&format=png&auto=webp&s=396e2fe65395b506636e365a221512afb9ff5fa1 https://preview.redd.it/4hh35emopzh81.png?width=628&format=png&auto=webp&s=c159512fdfc276dc79821e2818908249f8ad1f2e https://preview.redd.it/sn4tr1mopzh81.png?width=658&format=png&auto=webp&s=35f2c0c902c380faeaa7ec599b598a032b034976

Is this reasonable? (I work in the UK)

Hi there, I'll try and keep this short and sweet. I just need some other people's experiences/perspectives. I work as a project manager in construction and have been here for two and a half years. Came in as a trainee starting on £22,000 with no responsibility. I'm now overseeing over 80 projects, I'm in the office from about 6:30/7am to 4/4:30pm and I'm only being paid £26,000. The job is stressful and we are understaffed and it's now taking a hit on my mental health. Am I being paid fairly for the hours and responsibility I now have? Should I looks somewhere else? Should I be greatful for what I'm getting? Any opinions are of value. Edit: some of the 80+ projects are small. They range is from 50 man hours to about 2000 man hours of work.
