It’s what the VP wants…
This mornings first conversation with my store manager lead to him asking me if I was aware that the VP expects us here 15 minutes early every day. That’s what professionals should do. That is what will be expected of me. Sorry bud, I’ll be there with just enough time to spare to make it to the time clock and not be more than four minutes after my schedule punch time… cause disciplinary actions don’t start til minute 5, per the handbook.
Can we become crowd funded lobbyist?
I know we shouldn’t have to, but damn. If you politicians can be bought and sold, can we start a go fund me and raise millions of dollars to pay congress to give us universal healthcare and student loan forgiveness? Just humor me for a bit. How much would we theoretically need to raise? We would need enough to buy 218 house of reps and enough for 26 senators. Also, Pelosi and Mitch are gonna need more than rest of congress. I don’t care to hear it will never happen you idiot. I guess I’m asking if we the people could even raise enough to buy congress for particular initiatives? Edit: Let’s start a super pac for the plebs, hire competent people to get it going, get crowd funded lobbyist in Washington, and let see if we can get someone like AOC to help with details.
So I have been applying for jobs since January and two weeks ago I got pretty far with several. One rejected me for “not knowing where I want to move with my career”. Tbh I find this a really weird reason but w/e. So I had two companies left that were serious contenders. One company had a really weird procedure where I negotiated salary before ever having an interview, they offered me €3500 p/m with pretty awesome secondaries (36 days per year vacation paid). I already mentioned to them i was at least expecting €4000 but we decided to talk anyway. In the mean time the other company was also interested in me and when the recruiter asked what I used to earn i lied and said €4000, 4 hours later they offered me €4200 and I accepted this offer. Then I informed the first company that I will not…
I hate my new job
My wife and I were running a home bakery business and basically breaking even. She no longer wants to do it because she's concerned with retirement etc…So of course I get hired for a job before her and now here I am doing call center work and I fucking despise it…I get to work from home so that parts ok but wearing a headset all day and dealing with dumb stuff really grates at me. I dunno what to do because if I quit I'm gonna get lambasted by my wife for it. I wanted to continue with our own gig but she just doesn't…I just want something where I can work by myself and at my speed and not have to deal with anyone else.
Right off the bat they keep pushing back the student loan payments because they know that most people can't even pay them so it might just end up pushing a bailout for the banks again. Construction is completely disorganized right now, between supply chain issues and a general unwillingness to staff all industries. Most places we're working with this year, including my company have “plenty of work” without the means to actually complete them. This is how the economy is “doing well” (since it's based off speculation) but most people are in a shitty economic spot, because everyone is just eating the larger profit margin companies got during the start of covid. We're doing this either by working in understaffed jobs or not receiving raises that can match the insanely inflated prices of rent and food. Shit is going to get really bad by the end of the year as…
