This was Wednesday & I have yet to get a response. I already work partially remote so I’ll be back in the office on Tuesday. I did say in the E-Mail that I would appreciate a written response but it wouldn’t be below him to wait until I come in to talk about it. Which I’m prepared to do for once but still nervous about. I did say that I would have to seek employment elsewhere if he didn’t give me my ask (40K a year). That is bc I actually don’t make enough without that salary to apply to 99.999% of apartments in my area. I live on my own & have student loans coming back. I feel screwed. Part of me wants to just submit my two weeks on Monday bc even if he says yes I know this job isn’t my long term plan. It’s just a…
1,5 years ago I was working in a company that was crushing. It was TOO much. I was working on 10 to 25 projects at the same time with 0 experience working such projects and no support (especially after covid hit). I was just left behind a computer screen completely lost and to figure it out with no training and an unfair workload.. 6 months later I was burned out. Then I was called into a mandatory meeting and told I was sacked with the rest of the department due to reorganisation. I was so happy! No more stress from this ridiculous job, but I did need to find a new job.. I found one within a week but I was so.. SO!! Bored that I quit after a month thinking I was going to get a burnout from low workload instead lol. (It was mandatory to be in the…

Employee appreciation day today!
Got into my HQ today and was informed that due to it being employee appreciation day, there's donuts and coffee in the lunch room. I don't drink coffee but went in and grabbed a donut. Thanks, guys. Every little bit helps. Come to find out the managment team is going to a pro basketball game. Suite, food, alcohol, etc. I understand that they can't take 500 people to a game but damn, you couldn't have had a catered lunch for us?
Boss Screamed at Me
This scenario literally just played out at my job: Boss: How long will it take to do X? Me: Ok but it’s unlikely to be finished. —— 1 Week Later Boss: Is X done? Me: Not yet, like I was saying that was pretty ambitious. Boss: Can you get it done in 3 days? Me: I have Y hours between now and then. Again, I can see what I can do but it seriously may take longer. Boss 2: YOU GUYS NEED TO START TAKING DEADLINES SERIOUSLY! Me: Listen. I work Z hours / day, and I do my best within that period. My time is not a free variable, change your scope. —— > At this point I spent a…
