Wage claim appeal in CO
I filed a wage claim with the CO DOL back in September after I was fired. My former employer tried to withhold 20 worked hours and 4 vacation hours ($576.) I also filed for unemployment at that time. My final paycheck was paid out via payroll late and without all wages due. I sent out a demand letter that same day and she responded with a hasty letter, stating for about the third time that they would not be paying me out my vacation hours but included a check for my worked hours. There were plenty of text messages exchanged as well, documenting everything. She tried to appeal my unemployment and lost. Going so far as to lie and say that I was neglecting their 3 year old, even though they tried to hire me back. The DOL sent her a ‘Notice of Complaint’ on December 8th. On January 5th…
Should I be concerned?
So, I work at a pretty well known retailer. I've gotten quite a few points due to being late, as well as missing days due to doctors appointments for my pregnant girlfriend. I work diligently but I've only been here since December 6 of last year. Our schedule is posted on our company app, it's usually pretty reliable and up-to-date. However, I checked it yesterday and noticed I'm only scheduled for today. No other shifts for the rest of week. I checked it again this morning, (6AM) and it hadn't changed. I asked my areas supervisor, he gave me a speech about the schedule being unreliable on the app, tho no one has had issues before. As of right now, 8:33AM, it's still unchanged. I'm wondering if they're planning on firing me and just attempting to squeeze another day out of me before telling me. Should I be concerned? Additional…
Hi, this is my alt account, not a throwaway. I work at a mixed state-private owned telecom company in my country, i was hired into a department that focuses on linking the communities (The people) and the company itself to know where they have to solve emergencies and send technicians to fix something, the department in my state has been inactive for over a year after the previous manager was fired on the spot for insulting a manager from other state. Anyway, 3 people were hired, a manager, me, and another girl. I was a candidate to be a manager, but it was better to hire someone with an actual college degree, so they found one (No college degree is required to work at this department, but since it was inactive, it was better to find someone with a degree to look good in HR and the capital). The one…
I work for a small machine company, cnc work and that kind of stuff. I've been here for 4 years and aside from health issues never miss work or produce any scrap parts as we'll call it. As someone who has been here longer than 99% of the other workers my supervisor does a good job at underpaying me while paying everyone else an incredibly higher rate. I started out at 14 here and have worked very hard to reach 19.08 but we've got people here now who start at 19.50 and some people even more. They also refuse to teach me any kind of tooling work for some reason unbeknownst to me. After 4 years they still keep me a button pusher but higher new people with 0 experience in these fields to do jobs that pay significantly more than me. I have expressed that I'd like to learn…
Just a small rant, today is apparently 'employee appreciation day' in the US and management decides to thank us for our hard work with a poem. I like the companies I work for, for the most part and maybe I'm being sensitive (I definitely don't have it as bad as most people in this sub) but this really pissed me off. I feel so insulted, my division has worked miracles the last 2 years under increasing pressure, if they wanted to thank us they should pay us more. I can only imagine the BS other companies are going to pull today. Rant over
Fuck you. Pay me.
