It's no secret that Putin uses oil supply to force western nations to heel by threatening their energy infrastructure. These threats create instability and can raise prices. If your boss has suddenly decided that you need to buy a bunch of extra gas so you can sit in a cube everyday, they have strengthened Putin's position and weakened ours – whether intentionally or not. We should not be wasting gas during this conflict, or creating more systems that force dependence on Russian oil. If your boss (or bosses boss) is doing this – understand it is because they care about their property values more than the security of this country. Their shitty, overpriced downtowns are becoming worthless and they want to force you to patronize them once again – damn the costs to everyone and everything.
Here's a little bit of my story guys I'm quite frankly feeling guilty on a relatively regular basis, thinking that it's truly disrespectful to do that, that I'm not useful to society, that I'm here enjoying my free time way too much, spending most of my time reading, going to museums, playing games, partying here and there, writing, watching stuff, painting, gardening on my balcony, thinking about life yada yada yada…but apart from that? I've been really happy these last 5 years: I'm on disability (which amounts to something like 1000 dollars per month), in a Western European country, and I don't have to pay a rent as I partly own a really nice 100 sqm appartment in a very populated city (my father bought it, and he gave me “shares” of it (it's an equivalent to what you guys call LLC in the USA,”Limited Liability Company”) so although 90%…
No kidding
End of WFH
Guys what do you think is the reason that WFH is being discouraged by firms and the govt. Doesn't WFH decrease their running costs (variable costs)? Your opinions.
I worked for one week for a shady company and quit. They didn’t send me a pay stub or a w-2. They just sent a check for 390 dollars after working 39 hours at 15 dollars an hour. During tax season many months later, I asked for a w-2 and they said they didn’t put me on payroll because it would cost them 200 dollars and I was new. My accountant said they took out too much taxes. 390 dollars is too little for 15 an hour in PA. So they were paying me under the table, letting me think they were taking out taxes but really just keeping that money for themselves. I did sign some papers while working there but didn’t read anything. I have to see if I can find them but I don’t know if I still have them. All I have is an email saying…
