I took a visit to Nairobi Kenya and was surprised my 30 minute Uber ride to the mall was only 3 dollars and apparently there is a cheaper app to request transportation meanwhile the groceries at the supermarket were more expensive than what it is in Canada. Places like that are literally survival you have people hustling in the street to sell whatever they can to eat for the day.
A story they told me today: One employee was meant to be clocking off early to take their kid to a job trial or something. Another employee came back from break in pain and needing to see a doctor because she was literally defecating blood but got yelled at because the appointment time was about half an hour before work ended.
