How do I stress out less from work?

We’re under a huge crunch to execute an IT project. No real rush from an operations standpoint but I suspect the rush is coming from executives wanting it yesterday. How do I care less about the quality of my work when project manager is rushing me with unrealistic deadlines. I cannot delegate most of my work. My boss knows I am capable at work, so I’m not afraid of backlash there. I am just used to being a perfectionist and I can’t seem to make myself half ass my work to meet deadlines. Please help me change! I don’t want thoughts of work stressing me out after the work day.

Is it a red flag if your employer holds your first paycheck until the end of the month?

TLDR; got a job with great health benefits and decent pay in the public school systems. But I was told I won’t get my first paycheck until the 31st. Is this normal? Any reason behind it?

Getting fired right out of college

I just need to get it off my chest. I was very excited to start my job after graduating. I worked hard for my degree and was hopeful that I was on the right path. Turns out, I wasn’t. The company had so many red flags and now I’m just realizing them. First, the president of the company was very, very abrasive. He tries so hard to be this “cool and relaxed” type of guy but he’s such a hard ass. I confided to him about a health issues that has been going on and subsequently, made me miss a week of work (I was puking every day multiple times) and he told me, “Have you tried going vegan?” Second, they call themselves a “family”. That’s just a huge red flag in of itself. The work environment was awful and toxic. As a women, my field is very men dominated.…

So what does full-time employment mean to you?

Growing up, I was taught to expect 35+ hours/week, and anything less was considered Part-Time. At my current job, 30 hours is considered full-time, and I am employed as such. However, I barely get over 15 hours per week now, and this has been going on for months. Meanwhile a co-worker with the same job title has been scheduled for over 50 hours per week for the last two months, and a newer person has been getting more hours than me. I'm already in the process of looking for a new job, and educating myself so as to get on a different career path, but I was wondering if anyone else has been getting shafted like this.

New yearly schedule sucks

So I’m fairly new at my job compared to other workers. It’s a non profit. Started the end of 2020, with proper Covid restrictions and procedures. For the most my job is good. Decent pay and benefits. Chance at promotion. Weeks of paid time off. And they try to be friendly environment. Don’t fuck around and you should be fine. So before Covid the job would follow the school schedule from September to June. Meaning if the schools were off for a snow day or holiday so were we (and paid). So we a fair amount of holidays off. 2021 was a bit crazy with all the school lockdowns but still followed the schedule as they could I.e. got the Friday after thanksgiving off. But for 2022 the higher ups posted our yearly schedule. Long story short we only get the 5 big holidays off this year (Christmas, Memorial Day…

I’m about to be the only employee at my job

A few weeks ago I got a new job for a family owned company in my town. They have a bit a reputation for high turnover but they were also the only place offering a livable wage and schedule flexibility for doctors appointments etc. I accepted and seemed to click right away with my micromanaging boss (which is good because otherwise I’d have been fired) she also has a TBI which makes communication challenging. It’s stressful because it’s a somewhat complex job and the environment is chaotic but I thought if I had some cool coworkers I’d be ok. Well. Everyone quit and by next week I’ll have be the employee whose been there the longest. They even tried to hire replacements and one stopped coming the other is upset about her role and I don’t blame her. Apparently they wildly mistreat production staff, paying them $12 an hour with…

With covid-19 being an excuse for companies to ignore annual raises good, would you be happy after 2 years with a 3% increase?

Been with the company no raises and almost 3 years and they blew off all the employees due to covid and I don't know how to feel I'm just confused with mixed emotions swirling from anger to resentment to rage and then being grateful again. Maybe it's the pressure of Life, of cost of living increasing food prices increasing gas increasing that made me how that I hope that they would somehow say hey I know it's hard out there it's been rough here's a little extra. I feel like the beginning scene of scary movie 1 when she handed the homeless man the sandwich, and I'm that Homeless man
