Max I can spend is $200 before discount.
I work for a company that has multiple locations along a river to meet the needs of different trip types. Last year, my first year, I was a river guide and got tested and approved to be a driver so I could get a pay bump. So far, I love the pay, love my coworkers, and love my bosses (except one, who’s no longer working for us) I was recently asked to be the supervisor of one of their sites, and only offered a $1/hour pay increase. I would still be doing a lot of the same labor I did last year but I’d be in charge of about 15+ people on any given day. I’d also be making almost twice what they make before any raise. The old GM was a cheap ass who didn’t even offer overtime pay (since it’s legal to do so in a seasonal job).…
No matter what, there is never enough time or money. Making more money eats up the time so I don't want to pursue anything, but trying to take more free time means I wont have the finances to do them either. I'm interested in so many things. I wamt to try my hand at creative writing, I want to try making music, I want to learn how to draw, I want to get into the car community, I want to keep being able to play video games with my friends, I want to get better at fishing, I wanna learn how to skate, I want to meet more friends and get a potential partner. It just all piles up into so many things I want to do, but I can't do because currently I lack the finances for many of these things, and in order to get the finances for…
I got a spanking today!
So I got called into the office today! they said I need to be nice to the dispatchers! I said well they need to considerate of my time, I bust my ass out here so I can go home not so they put another load on me because I have time. Just because 14 hours is legal doesn’t make it right! Just for clarification I am a trucker so there is regulations on how many hours I am legally allowed to work. This muther fucker had the audacity to tell some of the other drivers will work 16 hours without a peep. I say well I am not one to be exploited and I will stand up for myself. Then he said just don’t cuss at them. I said okay but no promises I am an asshole
Not sure this belongs here, but I'm applying for a job (in corporate events) that hasn't accepted me yet and so far they've made me go through 4 separate interviews and do 4 different assessment tests. Never seen this before, is that a bad omen/red flag or a relatively normal practice these days?
i work at a pretty well known restaurant in LA and we currently have signs up that say, “employees are not allowed to use the first OR second floor guest bathrooms or they will be immediately written up.” beyond this being inherently dehumanizing that employees are seen as unworthy of using the same fucking TOILETS as guests, it’s a restaurant. we wait tables on the first floor, so if a server needs to run to the restroom during service, they have to make sure their section is ok long enough to run up 2 flights of stairs and back. to top it off, the “employee bathrooms” are disgusting, never stocked, usually broken, and the sinks don’t have hot water. CA labor laws say a business needs a certain amount of toilets available and such, and there are at least 5 available total if we ignored the rules, but this restaurant…
