Hi, I originally posted to r/legaladviceuk but no one replied. I want to help the driver and anyone else getting screwed by the company. Please let me know anything I should know. I'm emailing them and the council. Hello, I work for an NHS hospital and live near the park and ride which is free for nhs staff (very handy). Every day i show my work ID and I'm given a ticket which says “NHS £0.00”. Last week when I, my colleague and a member from a different department got on he recognised us and had 3 tickets waiting. We all took one but luckily before I sat down I noticed it said “Single – £1.55”. I queried this and the driver said the computer had been doing that all day. He said couldnt take undo them all on the screen only the most recent one. He tried to then…
I like this type of movie. American Beauty is one example. I want to watch more.
Some advice please.
I’m pretty new to the corporate world that isn’t unionized. I need a raise. I can’t afford to work for this company without 1. But who do I talk to? My manager? HR? Store director?
Does my employer own my email address?
I'll be leaving my current employer next week for a new job that came available. I currently use a live.com email address for work. This email address isn't on a company server nor is it tied to a website. I have to go to outlook.com in order to access it. The last time I switched jobs (I ended up coming back to this one), my employer said that I would have to give up my email address to them. I refused as I have other account tied to this one. I feel like this may happen again and I want to make sure before they try to force it somehow. For example, my email address looks like: [email protected]
What are some things that would make a job absolutely ideal? Make an environment you're happy to return to. What can an employer/business owner do to make sure that their business has the most positive impact on their employees lives? Both in and out of work?
Landlords care about money.
Most people are one pay check from being homeless, I have walked by human that don't have a home to go to a possibility that a landlord handed a eviction notice. I'm willing to lie in a job interview to pay rent, the landlord is not my friend to a landlord it's business. I live in the uk so rent is cheaper, I don't want to end up homeless benefits in the uk aren't bad UC alone does not cover rent UC is 344 pounds a month with housing thing. I don't know how most people are able to afford a car and rent at the same time, cars are not cheap cars on eBay for for 1,000+. Rent is around 400 to 500+ a month in the uk. Government owned property's are abet different, most of them cannot be bought by landlord's the rent is cheaper in state housing.
I am a bank teller and at my bank they send out surveys to customers after they come to the bank. The most important questions for us are “did this interaction make you want to increase business with this bank” and “did this interaction go above your additional needs when going to the bank”. Anything under 8/10 is considered a bad review and you will most likely hear from management. I frequently work the drive through lanes where customers get very impatient and it can get very busy. I am also severely depressed and don't really like working for a bank which is why I'm leaving soon. Recently I received a 5/10 review that said I did my job as I was supposed to and didn't do the above and beyond. My manager sends out an email to me and my colleagues about the survey saying how we need to…
I just started substitute teaching in a very large American city. A city so large and desperate for substitute teachers they constantly make national news. I am going to start my masters of Education program in the spring and wanted to get a feel for the land before I become a teacher here in a year. I have been subbing for a few weeks now and it’s been going great. I received an automated email stating I was over due on a huge list of training videos. I emailed the department on how to clock in and get paid for the videos and a week later (today) I finally received a response stating that I will not be getting paid and every employee is required to watch these videos. Not sure if it matters but the video titles are: Back to School Health Protocols Harassment, Discrimination and Retaliation Supporting Transgender,…
So I got into a ski accident and will require an ACL surgery next week. Dr's recommendation is that I stay out of work for 6 weeks. I am in marketing & work remotely from a home office. Since I've been with my current company for less then 12 months I do not qualify for FMLA. Company appraised itself to be super caring and pretty much unicorn wonderland bullshit. And now HR is questioning my Dr's recommendation of staying out for 6 weeks, and have me double confirm with the Dr that since I work remotely do I really need those 6 weeks. Have the Dr fill a ADA form and list out what the EMPLOYER could accommodate in order for me to work? Any suggestions for this HR bullshit?
