Everyone else, have a good day. Oh yea just decided. Taking Thursday afternoon and Friday off as well. Time sheet will still reflect 50 billable hours.

I work in construction in Australia. I took on a relatively large project for my old company of which they have never done before. Due to covid, staffing and support were slashed, below what any prior projects of even close to size had. Resources that were promised to be designated to the project at my commencement meeting. Over the six years, hours were increasing more and more. Covering tasks held by others, more and more. Quality of contractors slowly ever decreasing, again further increasing workload and job requirements. I've been transiting over 2.5 hours (and up to 3.5 hours) a day for over 7 months. The project previous was 4.5 hours a day. I've found a company whom have an enormous presence in the industry willing to pay me another 25%, with a full site team, not 20 minutes from home. Obligatory I'm on mobile so excuse any format errors. It was the summer between my sophomore and junior years of highschool. I was ready. I was excited to start working and make my own money. At the ripe age of 16 I applied to everywhere a 16 year old could, movie theaters, icecream shops, and Boston Market… I was so excited that I accepted the first job that called, Boston Market, and at a whole 10 cents over minimum wage! A total score! Right? Or so I thought. I was given an apron and was told to get to work. No training at all, but that's just how it goes I guess, you learn while you work. I joined a company about a year ago and was quickly promoted to the head of the department. I noticed religious based nepotism super quickly, petty people promoted to the level of incompetence, and general disregard for the lower level workers. I fought tooth and nail on a daily basis for those workers to be paid appropriately and be treated better by other managers. I was also promised a significant raise after a performance review and that never happened. Today was the final straw: the other managers (especially one boomer) went full boomer with that whole “People get their taxes back and quit working” pile of crap. That was it. I was done. The skinny: My entire team already left – my final colleague’s last day is today. Manager is extremely non-transparent, unprofessional and inconsiderate. I signed a sweet job offer today. The challenge: I love the people outside my team. I’m the only technical person left. Our systems are going haywire today. But I just want to put my 2 weeks in today so I can take a break before my next job

I was terminated from my job the other day and immediately cut off from my computer. I am really good at creating excellent documentation and training resources. However, all of it is in my documents folder on the company computer hard drive. If you work a cubicle job, do yourself a favor. Go on Costco's website and get yourself a 5TB external hard drive. Do not save anything you created to the Documents folder on your computer. I know that this is kind of a stupid thing to post but if I could go back in time, I'd smack myself for not being proactive. Please don't make the same mistake as me!

I guess this is just a rant but I figured I would post about it here. I work at a fast food place and have been for about four months. A man started around the same time as me and he has constantly sexually harassed me every time we work together. Making comments about how big my butt is, how he wants to have sex with me, etc. My breaking point happened Wednesday night. He told the whole kitchen that he is going to buy a hotel room and pimp me put because he knows I would make him a lot of money. This makes me so uncomfortable because I do not know this man. Just wanted to share my story and encourage others to do the same if you are in a position where it would be possible and you’re questioning it. So for a few years now I’ve been stealing time, I come in to work early in the morning and leave at 5, my boss on the other hand leaves earlier than me, so as soon I see his car is gone from the lot, I’m outta there. No one keeps track of people here, there’s no clocking in or out, so none of the higher ups are aware. And I’m not the only one here either, many of my coworkers skip out early. And when I get over time, I take all the hours I can get, but do the same thing, leave early and get paid the full time.
